They identified where they were weak:
1) Special Teams
2) Consistency
3) Killer instinct

They are committed to looking at making changes to make the team better and not for the sake of making change. No votes of confidence for the core was given.

What more could you want from the group?

Out for blood, no unity from the group running the team...that doesn't sound like a recipe for success does it?
Those were 3 things they were suppose to work on last year as well. Whatever decision they make I’ll support it but they can’t be having this exact same conversation next year again.

I hate what Shanahan said,: “We’re not going to make changes simply for the sake of making changes.”

Changes need to be made its not for the sake of making changes it for the fact that the leafs are actually doing the definition of insanity

Albert Einstein: The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

ITS NOT WORKING!!!!!!!!!! Some changes need to be made it's simple as that
They literally said they will be making changes lol

I thought Dubas did his job pretty well, same goes for Keefe.

Changes are made every year, this year will be no different.

Minor, relatively inconsequential changes yes. Not the kind of changes we might need. There’s a reason this team is 0-10 in elimination not matter who they replace around the core. Those changes have obviously made no difference.

The problem is the core of this team can’t get it done and our goaltending is weak. Management doesn’t seem to have the balls to change anything though so we just repeat the same script year after year.

It’s frustrating as the Isles literally fire their coach after back to back ECF appearances and one missed playoffs. We‘re too afraid of any change whatsoever but management acts “frustrated” when results are the same.

Like wth kind of bizarro world do they live in.

shanahan is going down with the ship. plain and simple. had no balls today and clearly leaves everything to dubas. Thats not a president. He should learn from Masai Ujiri. Raps had many failed attemps just like Leafs (with exceeding past first round many times) and they still threw a few grenades (demar, casey) and shook up the team.

The leafs are doomed. All they look at is say Washington Capitals and think their time will come.

Loserrrrrrrrrrrrrrs

What's your idea for change?

There are some questions about Dubas not being aggressive enough to LTIR Muzzin for the season.

Other than that, I think you guys need to calm down. The leafs were not blessed enough to play the Kings in the 1st round.
I’m glad we didn’t have to play the Kings in a Game 7. Never seems to go well for us.

We have no cap issues and would likely be a top 7 team in the league without signing another player, but people pretend we have some insane cap issue for some reason.

If we only sign RFAs

Bunting - Matthews - Marner
Robertson - Tavares - Kase
Engvall - Kerfoot - Nylander
Clifford - Kampf - Simmonds
Anderson, Holmberg, Douglas, Steeves, Abruzzesse

Rielly - Liljegren
Muzzin - Brodie
Sandin - Holl
Kral, Rubins, Dalhstrom, Kokkonen

Mrazek
Woll
Kallgren

Our team is in really good shape.

We already have a top team in the NHL without signing a single UFA or trading anyone.

he was useless last playoffs, and the one before that, and so on...

He is a glorified grinder, not much else.

He is a middle-six player who got a top 6 salary, he is clearly not useless, but he is overrated by a fair bit.

Marazek sucks

There were no votes of confidence for anyone aside the three guys who spoke today, pretty certain they’re looking at every possibility to improve the group on the ice.

So you're not willing to consider what kind of changes would be potentially available to them?

No, because none of us even know what those potential available changes may be.

You want to act like they can’t be judged because the path isn’t obvious. They make millions to figure it out. Not us.

I’m not the big brain GM or Prez. Let them figure it out. That‘s why they’re getting paid. Not my job.
They literally changed their starting goalie last offseason. Is that not a big change?

I have no idea the point you were trying to make.

So you don't know what change is and you still want it?

How many years now have they identified those weaknesses?

lol how about the habs last year, CBJ the year before. Doesn't matter who they play the result is the same and so many just seem fine with that, because they looked like they tried this year!

We blew a 3-1 lead to the Scabs only a year ago. Who are we to belittle the opponents of others.
The habs who swept the jets and dummied cup favourite Vegas on their way to finals? They caught an unprecedented heater by an all time goalie that took them 3 wins from a cup… who cares that they sucked this year with their 3 most important players gone…
Past years problems shouldn’t be hung on the current group, just cause we as fans wear every loss each season is a fresh start for a group that will undoubtedly look different compared to the start of this past season
