A couple interesting takes here. Freij and Brunicke over Solberg after the WCs. Ritchie at 26 even after a lackluster 2nd year and smaller build. Its always great to see lists that are different than most. It gives a lot of perspective.

Julius Miettinen at 29 is another one I don’t see in many lists. Big powerforward Finnish center

Zero chance Lev lasts till 6. I think Zeev is too low too.

I don’t have major critiques because I’m not in a position to give them but in general - I feel like the overall profile here is very high, higher than consensus - on the WHL players. Two top 5’s including Tij, four top 10’s and higher on Ritchie, Brunicke and Miettinen than consensus. I get than Brunicke is a riser and kinda Miettinen too. I feel like RR is falling on a lot of lists. So not saying it’s wrong - but it’s noticeable.

Levshunov and Silayev low
I can’t speak for Levshunov but as for Silayev - I personally have doubts with his offensive game and in particular how well he sees the ice with the puck on his stick, he at times takes far too long to scan and make a pass, he over the course of the year became an easy read for defences. Not saying he can’t improve on this but it’s so far away from where I’d like it to be in comparison to other defenders in this class, it scares me even if his size/defensive potential is tantalizing.

Trust me, I was pushing hard for Solberg - I would have liked to see him higher but that’s where we compromised to put him.

Are you putting out your personal list?

I like this top-32 list - maybe a couple quibbles but on the whole pretty good. Hopefully Kyle Davidson agrees with Demidov at #2 and then for the Hawks other 1st round pick at #18 I hope they take the best RD left on the board and according to McKeen that would be EJ Emery and I would be very OK with that.

Demidov looks too high, but, I have no idea about the draft class, maybe it is the class with not so many standouts and so, a crapshoot kinda like 2011

He's not a locked in #2 everywhere, but he's #2 on most lists.

I like the list, very similar to where I would have them. I think one or two of the puck movers will fall in favor of Helenius, Sennecke and Eiserman, maybe Connelly. But that is a question of drafting.

Surin in the 1st should be on every list IMO, he was the hero in the playoffs. I even agree on no Parascak despite his popping stats, foolish as that may be.

This top 5 is exactly how I have it.

6-15 is very close to how I have this talent being drafted. Only exception is I think I would have Buium and Eiserman rated a bit higher.

16+ is more guesses. Haven't dug into that area as deeply.

Going to try to answer to several of these comments for all of you:

Regarding Freij and Brunicke over Solberg:

We really like Solberg and the progress he showed in the second half. We expect him to be drafted even higher than we have him. That said, We do think that there are limitations to his puck skill, creativity, offensive decision making, that make him a more likely second pairing type who can be a defensive anchor.

Meanwhile, Brunicke has shown flashes of more offensive upside, while also possessing the same kind of physical tools that could make him a defensive stalwart.

Freij is just a different player all together, so tough to compare.

Levshunov and Silayev low

Important to remember (I feel like I say this every year, as does every independent scouting agency) that this is not a mock draft. We'll have a two round mock draft in our draft guide that is more indicative of where we THINK players will be drafted.

At the end of the day, this is where we'd draft said players if we were an NHL franchise.
