It's possible that McDavid will cool down but a rotation of Kane, RNH, Hyman, Yamamoto will make it harder for him to cool down the way he did last season

Having the option of Kane or Hyman on his wing means he’s guaranteed 130 barring injury. He’s never had this much winger depth around him

I didn't realize the league GAA atm was close to 1995-96 (3.00 to 3.04)

If it stays like this throughout the season, then I think it's possible. But I certainly wouldn't bet on it. Let's see him hit the mid 120 point mark before even talking about 130 or 140 points.

And I know McDavid had 105 points in 56 games during the 2020 - 21 season but it seems to be an anomaly in his career so far. Just like Jagr's 149 point season. Jagr's can be explained by high scoring environment, but McDavid season is less clear cut. You can point to only playing in the division but not many saw a dramatic increase in production like he did.

Was 123 points not close enough to mid 120’s for you? That was missing 2 games too. In theory he would have had 3 points in those games with his ppg. 140-150 isn’t super unrealistic

In his last 62 games he has 117 points which is the same pace since the coaching change last season, and that includes playoffs.

Don't think he'll play enough with Draisaitl to do it. Also if he focuses more on goals this year it's even less likely.
