Until you look at playoff points. Not only does McDavid have better career playoff numbers than these cup winners, but if you go by recent years (as you are doing to claim McD's peak is over) he BLOWS THE OTHER TWO OUT OF THE WATER.

However, since his 2022-23 form, he has notably declined and has had multiple players enter his tier (Nate, Kucherov).

Both are out scoring him the last 2 years. He clearly has some type of nagging injury or something going on. Still probably the best player in the league, but no longer the consensus best player.

Just because he didn't score the most points in the league the last few years doesn't mean he's not the best player in the league still. These past playoffs proved he hasn't declined. Plus, you can tell he's gotten to the point where he doesn't care about art ross trophies and all that regular season stuff anymore. He just wants to win a cup. And EDM almost did when he went off these past playoffs and almost broke Gretzky's playoff scoring record. Dude had as many points these past playoffs than players like Matthews has his entire playoff career. lol

There's something to be said for that though. Leafs had 2 guys chasing personal milestones all the way thru game 82 and we saw how they looked in round 1. Completely out of gas.
