Would the Oilers have turned the puck over if there was an impending call?
There's not a single point where the Canucks get control of the puck from when the initial sequence happens until the play is blown dead to give McDavid a major penalty where the ref could have given Garland an interference penalty.

...Which would have been a tough enough solo call to make anyways because by the time since McDavid took down Garland during incidental contact til Garland was able to get up himself (had McDavid off of him) but kept the hold, there was less than 2 seconds to decide on that single penalty (where the Canucks didn't have the puck) before McDavid was punching Garland in the head.
I didn't say it would have changed the outcome at the end of the game, but the fact they didn't call it is remarkable and pretty characteristic of the NHL just ignoring blatant penalties. And for the record you can clearly see McDavid move his legs twice trying to get up, but he can't because Garland has a bear hug around his left arm. This is before Garland grabs onto him twice more once they're up.

It doesn’t look like Myers is getting anything. Whatever, if fans would rather pay to watch the Chaos Giraffe at a best on best tournament over Connor, I hope McDavid and the Oilers make that a reality.
Myers has a hearing also, not just McDavid.

Back in the day he wouldn’t be committing stick fouls cause guys would be beat to shit for all the shit that’s happened to him over the years. That’s gone away so he does shit himself now.
the poor abused superstar that responds to legal defensive moves with injury causing stick fouls. im not running down the lost time injury list this cheap shot AH that thinks he's bigger than the game has caused. somebody needs to see how deep they can stick foul him in a tight spot on him

So not a phone hearing? That means 5+ games right. Probably mad at him for making them look like the biased weak cowards they are. Can't really explain away two serious incidents in that short amount of time.

Messier and Howe made their careers doing exactly that type of assault, but unprovoked, game in, game out, and they are venerated for legendary "leadership". McDavid (and Kessel and Forsberg and hundreds of other talented player through the decades) try to defend themselves in kind and are castigated as "bitches" and "losers". Or, like Daniel Sedin, they heroically and stoically hold back.... and are mocked as "bitches" and "losers". Bottom line? The NHL hates talented players, and always has. Old boy goons and their billionaire enablers run the roost, and there has never been, nor will ever be, fairness and justice (in hockey terms).

That's a nasty crosscheck, but one of the dirtiest players in the league?? Please.

McDavid has to throw a lot more crosschecks to even pass Malkin and Benn as the dirtiest star player, let alone dirtiest in the league. Then there's Marchand level.

With the increasing incompetence of the refs and arbitrary nature of penalties, I guess it shouldn't be surprising more players keep taking matters into their own hands.

Connor should turn down the Four Nations after this, the league has never cared about his safety and now are actively singling him out for disciplinary action. Why let them keep profiting off him?
Hahahahahah Oilers gold here. Turn down 4 nations because he cross checked someone in the face which is allowed because he gets hooked and tripped and played hard sometimes. The amount of calls he draws that are borderline because of who he is cracks me up half the time. Thanks for the entertainment.
