I don't see how we can just wave away their current form. It reeks of the Flip The Switch years under Trotz, and we know what happened there.

It's 3 of 5 hottest teams down the stretch so 60% vs 40%. And in previous years it was similar or worse. And if you look at the hottest 5 teams down the stretch and compare to the Cup winner there is no correlation. It's close to coin flip.

At the about 1:07 mark in the below video, OV gives Protas a hug on the bench. Makes me wonder if Pro has been on the bench all game? I'd imagine if he wasn't, he might've been in the suite with Oshie, Backstrom, Ted, et. al. (Or wherever else injured players sit.)

Ah, good call, I hadn't seen AA. It would make sense that the scratches were together. I guess they could've been somewhere else and made it to the bench within the ~5 minutes between goal and those hugs.
