this is ridiculous, so denmark score one unfair goal against us and now any referee wont allow any player near goalie or what< way to kill the game

Nice sequence: faceoff win by Monahan, good job by Ellis getting it to the net, and great tip-in by Ward.

Reimer may get a tryout with the Yellowknife Dimond Diggers next Fall after his performance today.......

Sweden clinches the group if Norway wins a point here. But that puts us up against Finland or USA I guess?? Not sure I'm liking that prospect.

Made this comment in a different thread (disparaging IIHF refs ) but it bears repeating here...

In Today’s game on pp: Canuck Player ( can’t remember who, might have been Huberdeau ? ) skates thru Norwegian crease twice without making contact/ interfering with goalie.... My understanding of IIHF rules is that ref ( at his discretion ) can blow play dead at that pt, with faceoff outside the zone...

But no Canuck was in crease when goal came off a pt shot ( from Ellis was it? ). So reason for disallowed goal was unclear to me? What were they trying to say here, that Huberdeau’s stick slightly impinged upon the airspace above the crease ( again without, in any way, impeding the goalie)??? :shakehead Mighty strange ruling...

Also there was flagrant embellishment/ diving by a Norway guy, late in the game, on the Bieksa penalty. Bieksa might have been guilty of interference, but ( without bothering to look anything up ) pretty sure that wasn’t the call. Seems Ref fell for that Norwegian’s blatant act, which only serves to encourage more theatrics ... especially from Euros used to conning IIHF officials.

To me, both of the aforesaid incidents looked somewhat Bush League...

Didn't get to watch the game but good to see the win. From what I heard the game was not as close as the score would indicate. Onto the quarterfinals on Thursday vs. Latvia or Finland. Good luck to the team.

IMHO, Canada played very well - very good possession. Norway was very good at capitalizing on their chances, and pouncing on mistakes.
