Haha if Russia not win i promes i will eat up my hat:laugh:

Well, you lost against us in Slovakia in 2011:laugh:
But watch out, hockey is on the rise in Norway. We plan to build a new rink next year and maybe another one in 5 years lol
The people in Norway are so brainwashed that They think that all that matters in winter sports is cross country skiing :help:

True, so sad. It's boring as **** as well.

Anyways, hope we manage to put the scare into the ruskies.

And Belruse beated us when we got our A-team in Salt lake city your point is;)?

Ofc anything can happen in hockey! but i don't think Norway can pull this off, I'm more than happy if you guys do it! But i'm not so happy to eat my hat:laugh:

3 lines only ???

Any source to prove that Russia will play with only 3 lines first match?
Why they would keep Malkin / Tarasenko in stands to rest ?

Kovalchuk needs 5 more points to be top point scorer of WC since dissolution of CCCP.

Go to the IIHF website. Only 9 forwards registered for today's game. If Malkin, Tarasenko and Kulyomin were playing, they'd already be registered.

They may have a few hours to add to the list if they wish, but I think it's a pretty safe bet they'll play today with those 12 forwards and then add tomorrow + when and if Ovechkin becomes available, add him at that time.

Malkin, Tarasenko and Kulyomin arrive only today.

play with only 3 lines first match confirm by assistant head coach yesterday.
7 df + 9 fw today.

Easy 5-0 win Norway. 3 goals from Lars Haugen.

Murphy's law will show itself for Russia!

Jokes aside, i'm looking forward to this game!
Was in Sweden when we played Russia and despite the results Norway actually played on par with the team, so it's not impossible it could happen again.

Russia has a tendency to underestimate their opponents time and time again so hoping they will do that again.

Russia also coming with a less intimidating lineup than i thought compared to the last time we met em.

Anyways hoping this will be a good one and that Lars haugen will keep his awesome game vs KHL players good!

This is all very well, but Volden will play between pipes.

Mind linking the lineups then, i cant for the life of me find it on IIHF for some reason.
Also find it pretty odd as Norway havent even had their Practice yet and our coach never puts up the starting goalie that early

I read your press yesterday and Haugen interview.
Volden will start

I still find it VERY odd that he gets the nod the day before match when they've not even had the final practice yet.
It could be Probable, yes but just cant see Roy deverting from the way he's been running goalies for the National team.

Also it makes no sense.
Volden has no russian experience at all. and hasnt really had that of an "over" impressive season for Rögle, while our first goalie Haugen plays in KHL and knows their hockey alot better, and also has had one hell of a season for Minsk.

Good post! Yes, Norway seems to be getting better. My theory is that other European teams remember just enough about Soviet times to remember how great hockey was, but at the same time, realize that Russia is not as good. So they're not afraid of Russia, and think they have a chance to win or at least put on a good show against them. Its a "what do we have to lose mentality" that for some reason doesn't arise when they are playing against Canada., although Norway actually put on a pretty good show against Canada in Sochi!

it's never easy anymore ans with the limited roster I expect a closer game than one would think.
3:1 Russia

I honestly think we are going to lose this one. Recent EHT games were embarrassing and we are missing out top NHLers
