Do the leafs really need more offense? Should scramble for goaltending or replacing Giordano.

Tsyplakov is a gritty forward, he can play 3rd or even 4th line role, and he has some size and skill as well...

Any relation to Vladimir, drafted by the Kings in the mid 90s?

He's a grandson of a famous Soviet forward of 60s.

25 year old Russian has breakout season on a team of breakouts by guys that largely got drafted and barely had a cup of coffee in the NHL.

Is his shooting % really high or unsustainable? He’s never really scored this many goals at any level.

There are rumors NHL teams want him. At least they say Toronto wants him
So the dude had his first 4 goal game in the KHL today. 29+12 after 54 games.

"Per his agent, #Yotes, #NHLBruins, #LeafsForever and #LGRW showing interest in #Spartak Maxim Tsyplakov."

Looking at his team, seems a lot of players there are putting up unsustainable numbers compared to their previous seasons. What is the root cause of this?

Not surprised by Yzerman being mentioned in there. Part of his ability in Tampa was finding a way to make it work with Russian draftees. Doesn't hurt that there are pockets of Russian expats in the region to make the move easier. But he was successful at leveraging that on some draftees and still has a solid rep.

To be fair, he's been progressing the last 4 years.

No idea how he is defensively, but at 6'3, as long as he's decent enough, he's worth a try as a bottom 6 guy at least.

Why would he go sign in Toronto? So if he has a good season he has to leave because the big 4 hog all the money? May as well just go sign in Chicago now.

What's more shocking is that you have Nikolay Goldobin on that team with 65 points in 54 games (31 G and 34 Assists) LOL. Maybe they should sign Goldobin instead. Also wtf 40 year old Ilya Kovalchuk in the lineup with 4 goals in 11 games.

Star player and first round pick from the Sharks Nikolay Goldobin and veteran presence Ilya Kovalchuk.
