It was just 1 game, but his debut was an eventful one for a bottom 6 forward. His skating and tenacity were very welcomed additions tonight and he showed some skill, defensive awareness and hustle as well. He looked like a guy tired of riding busses in the AHL. Hopefully he can be consistent with that level of hustle and become a useful piece for us.

Impressive first game.

Important to not let that blind the team into thinking hes more than a 12th/13th forward level player.
I just hope the country club atmosphere is done. Scratch Brown if needed, Scratch Janmark if needed.

I'll give Knobs credit he had balls scratching guys in the playoffs last year

I loved this guy when he was a prospect. He looked like a future impact power forward. For some reason, his game hasn't stuck at the NHL level - he's looked like an AHL/NHL tweener for sure. I hope that all he needs is a chance in the right place. He looked good in the parts of the game I watched last night.

He looked like our Foeggle replacement TBH. Big, fast, with a lot of hustle and seemed eager to carry the puck himself.

looked good with the puck but defensively he was battling for everything. he wants a spot

Like Kostin (or even Kassian) before him, he's not a guy that excels playing within structure.
But toss him out on the ice with the job of just being a bull in a chinashop? He'll do that very well.

Perfect 4th liner for a team that desperately need a physical presence. Plus they've got the cavalry coming with Frederic and then Kane.

This team needed a player like this.

Mostly to push the existing forwards who have played the whole season comfortable with their spot in the lineup.

A healthy Frederick will only increase the competition.

His hustle and physicality should be contagious at least for the guys on his line. If he can stick, Frederic gets healthy and so does Kane, that will be the most grit we've had on the wings since Lucic, Kassian and Maroon.

I think that (aside from Bouchards O/T goal) he was the story of the game for the Oilers.

Very impressive debut.

Now some of that was proabaly adrenaline but there was a lot to like in terms of his skill and skating.
If he can hit consistently then the Oilers really have something here.

Just maybe Mr. Inconsistent has finally got it through his head he is not a scorer at this level. That he is a 4th line player meant to bring energy and crunch and cycle. Lets hope.
