COVID North Division is a weird blown up myth, imo

North had the most parity with 36 points separating top and bottom, while the other divisions were much more disparate with point spreads of 58, 62, and 71 points
Vancouver's last place, 7/7, finish in the North would be 7/8, 7/8, and 6/8 in the other divisions, while Toronto's 1/7 first place finish would be 3/8, 3/8, 3/8.

As for raw offense, the North's GF/team was 166.1 goals per team, ahead of West's 163.9 and Central's 161 but just below East's 166.8 - so they weren't scoring in bunches more than other divisions, really

I think it was a more volatile division, with the standings changing a lot and top teams losing to bottom teams all the time, and while no one really claiming ownership of it that gives it this chaotic identity, it wasn't really padded by any means

Just my little side rant when people mention the North bubble as this sideshow, meanwhile Marchand and Rantanen were lining up against some real stinkers like Buffalo and Anaheim night after night

This is objectively true because he has never come close to replicating the performance he had in that Covid North division.

Never!

And he plays in the worst division in the NHL with only a few of the last Cup winning teams and finalists, so he's been handed the best platform to actually do something in the regular season, and simply hasn't been able to stand out.

Pathetic.
