Rest in Peace Johnny Bower
OK but it wasn't even the most vicious one this season. It was a viscous cross check, no doubt. No room in the game for that regardless of whatever precedent some believe is the " norm".

I don't doubt that it's part of the reason. This is revenge for publicly drawing attention to how terrible their officiating was the game before. Surprised they didn't go 3 or 4 games to really drive home their message.

Don't be shocked if Matthews leaves at the end of his contract if those 2 are gonna be complete p***yes about it. Stand up for your franchise talent for f*** sakes. Not even anything to lose either. What's gonna happen, they stop giving us powerplays? How can you go lower than 0.
Light 'em up. Leafs Twitter should have some personality and paste some of these clips too.
It's no use arguing with the kiddie pool.Dude keep up with the thread. There's many posts showing the exact same "attack" with no suspension.
I can totally get on board with the view that other infractions should be suspension, but anyone saying Matthews shouldn't get suspended is out to lunch.
You clearly have no clue what precedent is, which is the entirety of every single "argument" regarding a suspension. You keep posting stuff that you think should be suspensions as evidence that this one shouldn’t be. That’s a not a convincing argument.
At the end of the day, screwed if you keep taking abuse (called weak and uninterested), screwed if you react (inconsistent and disproportionate penalties).
The way we're playing they'll both be gone in a couple months.Don't be shocked if Matthews leaves at the end of his contract if those 2 are gonna be complete p***yes about it. Stand up for your franchise talent for f*** sakes.
Probably has something to do with that, as well as owner of the Boston Bruins being Parros' boss, and us being a rival and direct competition of the Bruins. So is this just because Colton Orr knocked Parros out all those years ago, and he's been harboring a grudge ever since?

2 games is probably the right decision here despite the wildly fluctuating penalties and inconsistencies of dops discipline in general.
its not inconsistent - it always, always goes one way when it comes to the leafs.
it's extremely, extremely consistent when it comes to the leafs.
It’s only the right decision if they keep ruling the same way from here forward, which I’d be perfectly fine with. I’m not holding my breath though
I expect Dubas and Shanny to speak on their franchise player getting suspended when the precedent should have basically led to a fine.
Unacceptable. The Leafs are the joke of the NHL officiating offices.
Perfect opportunity to get the young lad in on a "f*** Parros" chant.I haven't taken my 11-year-old son to a game since he was a wee lad in the Phaneuf era. Got him tickets to Thursday's game for Christmas. Thanks, Parros!
