The league is consistent about being inconsistent. Also consistent about being calling the actual rulebook fairly to one team only while the other 30 teams have a different rulebook.

Worst part is with all this evidence, main boards still think we're crazy thinking this way. And hfboards allow it too lol it's redick.

Before this season I always thought the claims of bias against the Leafs was overstated in game situations. But this season everything being said is absolutely true. The no call in OT. Frustrating that the guy can't draw a penalty to save his life despite the fact that he's so strong on the puck and the only way to get it away from him is with an infraction that doesn't get called. The Spezza suspension was ridiculous. This one is even worse.

Maybe Bettman's hope is the guy gets so pissed off here that he wants to go home to save Bettman's pet project of a team.

I'm guessing they will appeal but it will take longer than the 2 games for it to happen so it looks like Boss Baby gets his own way again.

It’s one thing when fans of other teams, other players, have a hard on hate for a franchise, it’s another when that bias runs through to the top of the league who make real decisions that impact the game. Always in the bottom of the league in penalties drawn, always getting the most in suspensions whenever the opportunity arises. The f***ing commissioner made a low hanging fruit joke about our first round exits in a live interview just a few years ago. Could you imagine the commissioners of the other big four leagues did that with the Yankees or Red Sox or Knicks or Cowboys? They wouldn’t.

f*** sakes I don’t know what it’ll take but Christ I wish someone would say something. I know with how petulant the refs and league are that they’d just end up being harsher on us but Goddamnit they’re already f***ing us every which way. Can we at least not take it lying down?

No question that league discipline is inconsistent. Every team can trot out video showing egregious penalties not called nor followed upon properly by the league. Every fan base thinks that they are singled out and Leafs are no different-and sometimes they are right!.In this case there are a couple factors that may have had some impact on the decision: 1/ It looks like Matthews jumps up off the ice to make the high contact-players usually keep both skates on the ice when just trying to cross check someone out of the way or just want to retaliate to the body. Was that a consideration? Heaven knows..2/ This was a Showcase game for the NHL and televised internationally with a lot of fanfare. This was a bad look for the game and the incident received huge publicity and condemnation. A slap on the wrist may have given the wrong message. Just some idle thoughts.....

3 possibilities. Leaf bias. Cashing in on the one day of docked pay from one of the highest paid players. Or lastly, Matthews rolled into the hearing full send mode and said Dahlin is a little bitch who deserved it

Take your pick.

How does a team like Toronto manage to play 2x NHL games vs Arizona and Buffalo and only manage to get on the powerplay 3x times total? Especially when they often have the puck? Those aren’t normal NHL special teams numbers. 3x power plays per game is considered light to normal.

Because in case you didn't notice the refs shoved their whistles up their asses. Tavares and Matthews in OT vs ARZ, 0 penalties called, the ref is standing 2 feet away.

Yesterday, what's hilarious is Cozens cross checked Bunting in the head after Bunting was already taken down, not a penalty, no one is even talking about it.

Is there a worse experience in pro sports than being a Leafs fan? The Knicks probably, but after that slim pickings. The team always sucks and on top of that we have to contend with biased officiating and suspensions against our team.
