I agree. Should have also been a suspension. There are lots of those that are only given fines and I hope going forward it's consistent.

It's not a big conspiracy against Toronto though man, and you getting all worked up is funny :D

Boston Series...

  • Debrusk elbows dermott in the nose (no call); dermott jersey is full of blood still nothing
  • Debrusk knees Kadri no call; he then wrestles kadri no call
  • Chara punches tavares in a scrum no call
  • many other infractions no call and no discipline
  • Kadri crosschecks him lightly gets suspended
what kind of a shitshow league is this where only one team is always on the receiving end. f*** this bush league with their anti-leaf agenda

Do you spend your days outraged lol

Kadri was so obviously a suspension

Interesting seeing the responses.

Seems like an obvious suspendable play. Thought he'd get 1, but 2 is fine. Can't crosscheck someone in the neck, and it's not relevant what happened before.
Logically speaking, what's happened in the past shouldn't be relevant, all things considered. However, the precedent that the dopes at the DoPS have put into place sees player suspension come into play only after said player is deemed to be a repeat offender. Unfortunately, it seem like the DoPS has another rulebook for Toronto.

I would agree they aren't consistent but I don't think there is some conspiracy against Toronto. I think just Toronto fans notice the bad when it happens to them and remember every single time they don't get the calls they think they deserve.

Every single thread is a bunch of children "WAHHHH REFS ARE BIASED AGAINST TORONTO". It's every single game we lose.

Just starts to get annoying and I felt it needed to be called out. I'm glad Matthews got suspended because I don't want things like that in the league. I hope when something similar happens they punish the same way.

They won't though. It didn't change before, it won't change after. The precedence shows that it won't.

There's no reason to be optimistic that things for some reason have changed as of yesterday.

There's nothing that says what Matthews did was a suspendable offence just like the ones before weren't a suspension. It's all subjective bullshit that Parros can hold over teams and players.

The league went 7 years without suspending someone for an infraction against the Leafs. This occurred during the time period:

Riding someone's numbers and sending them off on a stretcher is a good hockey play against the Leafs, not deserving a suspension or a fine.

You remember that game where the most obvious penalty you ever saw wasn't called and won the Leafs a game? I don't either cause it never happens. It happens regularly the other way and not just with "Game management".

You know of another crazy possession team as soft as the Leafs that gets among the fewest powerplays in the NHL and actually has a negative penalty differential?

Combine this with the fact the Leafs statistically are the team least protected by DOPS as obvious suspensions against us are ignored and anything a Leafs does is punished harshly.

It's not surprising conspiracy thoughts arise. How can you explain these bizarre stats? The only thing I can come up with is a combination of extreme game management (the Leafs have the highest xGF% in the NHL since Keefe became coach) combined with using big market Toronto as an example of what is and isnt allowed but even that is a form of corruption against a team.

It's getting really frustrating having league decisions go against this team in a lopsided way and the plain stats back up that's what is happening. How long before you start to think it's maliciously purposeful? It's one thing to cry about the refs and look kinda foolish (like anyone getting upset as an Avs fan as the stats trend the opposite way)....It's another to have all the data showing there might be some truth there.....

Little over a year ago.........not even a penalty.

Mainboards are even a bigger cesspool than they were in the past.

I did not think it possible but here we are.....

There’s not a chance in hell I’m going to the HF Mains after this lmfao. Trolling against the Leafs is tolerated 24/7. This is like Christmas for them.

Really I’ve got no time for anyone that can’t see the obvious discrepancy between past cross-checks to the head that resulted in NOTHING or minor fines and what Matthews got as punishment. Anyone that doesn’t see it is being purposely obtuse to get a rise out of Leafs fans/simply cheer for any and all misfortune for this franchise, which is a large majority of this board, Mods and Administrators included.

They won’t but keep licking the NHL’s boots.

Normally I would say a game or two is fair but based on what others are getting ranging from nothing to a 5k fine this is bull.

I guess the best we can hope is the boys pull their heads outta there butts since they cant accept the Matthews auto goal hack.

The Leafs are damned if they do, damned if they dont.

Go bigger and tougher.....in the box all the time, zero powerplays and negative penalty differential.

Go soft and play all finesse.....still zero powerplays and negative penalty differential.

Maybe start diving like a bunch of losers but then the league is quick as lightning with the simulation fines to go with the crazy lopsided DOPS decisions.

What the hell can the team do really?

The team needs to go off like the Rangers did and take it further. I'd support them if they forfeited a game or two in protest. Let's see if hitting the league's purse gets their attention.

The various statistics spanning years on things like penalties drawn for teams, penalties drawn for individual players, suspensions for and against, etc all trend towards there being a basis for this team's fans being upset.

I'm guessing almost everyone complaining about this latest injustice would be ok with the 2 games Matthews received, if the punishments were handed out far more consistently throughout the league.
