This decision is absolutely ridiculous. The contention is not whether the offense is suspendable, but whether it's ocnsistent with similar infractions in the past. It's going to hurt Matthews in his quest for 60 and/or the Rocket.

Between the DoPS being a bunch of dipshits, the biased game management refereeing, the lack balls from our coach/management team to speak out against these biases, the team's general lack of leadership and effort against the "crappy" teams that continually beat us, and the worst goaltending tandem in the league since the calendar hit 2022 ... I'm going to take time to cool down on this. But like others I've seen post on here, reddit and other forums about this ... I'm seriously questioning why I am so invested in watching the Leafs/NHL. The reaction that the Leafs have after this may really influence my decisions.

I was so excited when I was able to buy season tickets a few years ago, now I'm wondering if I should even keep them. I don't want to overreact, so my first move may be to just skip going for a year or really cut back the # of games I go to. But if the Leafs don't do something about this bullshit, I'm not sure I want to be their fan anymore.

And by their reaction, I sure hope Shanahan, Dubas or Keefe say something about this. Also curious to see if Matthews says anything (can he get more than a $5k fine from Gary for blasting him or Paros?). There's been a lot of people on these forums that have also speculated the best way for the Leafs to get more powerplays is to start playing dirtier. Another benefit may be the Boston effect: the dirtier you are during the game, the less shocking a suspendable act is, and you may not get anything.

Leafs could also start flexing their muscle by making it known to referees that there will be "consulting" jobs available to many of them after they retire. Hire several guys at 50-100k per year (that's for probably 10hours of work a week on average) for providing their input on how the Leafs can get more calls and get away with more. Also using those consultants to lobby their friends/people they mentored while working.

If Dubas is such a brilliant guy, I want to see something besides us eating a shit sandwich after this and saying to Gary "please sir can I have some more"

I feel like the fury shown here is due to our (the fans’) very real but ultimately futile anger at…

It is the last point that makes me the angriest. Nobody at Leafs HQ says or does anything…and we, the fans, just plod on, yell and scream for no reason and no result, and we miss our best player for 2 reasonably important games. And we will yell and scream about everything, and then root, root, root for the home team.

Truly. Just reading these posts. We hate Parros, we hate the refs, we hate the DoPS, we hate the NHL, heck, we hate Mrazek, and we hate goaltending in general. And for what?

Nothing. It is just emotion for emotion’s sake, and not even getting it out of our systems here at HFBoards makes anything better. It just sucks.

I will always cheer for the Leafs, and I am not talking anyone down or ripping on anyone’s feelings here. Just…sounding off about sounding off. Accomplishes as much as any other post, really.
