After Matthews collected his 51st goal of the season last night, Draisaitl notched his 50th tonight. As it stands, Matthews maintains a 1 goal goal lead in the rocket race, with 14 games left to play. Meanwhile, Draisaitl, who trails by 1 goal, has 12 games left to play.

It will likely go right down to the last game of the season. The only thing against Matthews is that Toronto is in the Atlantic and down the stretch they will see a lot of Tamp and Florida. Not to mention Boston and other strong teams.

Draisitl plays in the Pacific, the worst division in the league. Easier to score against those bottom feeders.

Toronto seems to rise to occasion offensively against the other top teams in the East, so my hope is that he stays on a heater. Most importantly, we need some multi-goal performances out of him, as well as a couple empty netters.

Yep we're 7-1-1 against Tampa, Boston, Carolina and Florida combined this season. Glad we'll get a few previews of our potential playoff battles and see Matthews derby his way to back to back Rockets and the Leafs all time goal record.

14 games remaining for Matthews too and only 12 now for Drai.

Leafs have 14 games left: 8 against playoff teams and 6 non-playoff teams (all 4 in the Atlantic + PHI + NYI)

8 of Edmonton's remaining 12 games are against playoff teams. Those other 4 games are against SJx2, CBJ, and VAN

This is even more promising knowing Edmonton's schedule. They don't do good against playoff teams.

Wrong thread sorry. Thought I was on n the mains.

My opinion,

Draisaitl +/- plus 21 (plus 29 last year)

Draisaitl eased up for at least 15 games while the players were working at getting Tippett fired.

Draisaitl will win the Dart Dick, 2 ahead of Matthews and 4 ahead of McDavid

Living completely rent free in your fanbases head we are?

Defending Richard Trophy winner Matthews had 1 goal in the Leafs first 9 games because he missed time recovering from surgery. Since then 50 G in 59 games.

It won't even be close unless the league gifts you even more PP's on dubious calls.

Feel free to play again next year, we love your quarters!

Imagine having to go to another team's board to project your insecurities.....:laugh:

That’s a pretty bad take, all around.

But the biggest take away is you think McDavid, who is currently 11 goals behind Matthews (who is likely going to score 60 or more), will finish just 2 behind him?

You think McDavid is going to score 18+ goals in the next 12 games?

Good luck with that

Draisaitl won’t win anything. He does good against bottom feeder teams in the weak pacific.

Matthews > Draisaitl

Tbf we have guys looking for Matty too. Just not to the extent of losing games lol. But fair point.
Based on the fact that EVERYONE on the Oilers makes plays for Draisaitl and they dont play defense at all. Draisaitl will win. Case in point. Draisaitl scored a hattrick tonight and was a -4.

My opinion,

Oilers are a joke and Crysaitl is a nut spearing bitch.

You're lucky your team plays in the worst division in hockey. All those teams minus Calgary are a total joke and we saw what happened the last time you guys played them.

There’s just too many games left for anyone to catch Auston… he’s likely going to pull away from the field soon… he’s getting to 60.

I can’t be the only one thinking he’s going to net one of his typical back to back 2 goal games soon… against TB and FLA would be insane… 55.

Jesus lol I got blocked on the draisaitl 50 -50 for calling out an Edmonton fan who said draisaitl has 3 seasons of 5050 when it's only been 2. Guessing someone complained about me correcting their shitty math.
