Walker could be had for fairly cheap if the Kings are getting Chychrun or another LD somewhere else. LA would definitely not be the ones retaining though.

Roy isn't for sale yet

Would Durzi be available at all?

No chance in hell of Roy moving.

Walker needs to move for progress' sake. Nice, acceptable 3rd pairing defender whose contract is blocking out kids who are ready. Highly doubt any salary is retained given he isn't on an expiring contract. He is an easy buyout candidate this summer if he can't be moved, and a buyout is better than retaining salary in trade.

I’ll go out on a limb and likely get crucified for saying this but Matt Roy is a MacKenzie Weegar type Dman.
Look at their career trajectories and they’re following a similar path.. so what is that worth on the market at a sub $4 mill salary for another year?
Obviously the Kings are moving him but that would be the ask. He’s a second pairing stud

The Roy-Durzi Conundrum.
They dont work well as a pair, especially with Durzi on his offside.
Presumably if LA trades for a LHD for the 2nd pair, one of these two guys is SOL.
If you got a Chychrun then Roy should probably pair with him.
If you got more of a defensive physical stud then Durzi would be more effective.
Blake has a lot of decisions to make, LA cant keep all of these contracts with so many prospects poking their heads up and demanding feeding.
Presumably a trade by LA will have several moving parts and might be followed up with others. Walker, Roy and Durzi should all check in with their realtors just in case.

Given the price going for dman I’m assuming the price is high.

Walker less so than Roy or Durzi.

With Clarke and Spence still coming something has to give. Spence can’t keep cooking. I can see Clarke in the AHL even tho that could be considered blasphemy.

Got a decent goalie prospect to trade?

Hugo Alnefelt would be good for us

Orlov, Roy & move Iafallo to make the cap work?

Chychrun, Roy from a style standpoint doesn't seem like a great fit. Durzi, Roy isn't. Just don't see how the team gets better trading Roy. Still too many RD & cap is tight next year. Year after tons of cap space.

Edit: King's just need to say to hell with it & trade for Karlsson. :naughty:

Matt Roy is pretty irreplaceable to the Kings, so the price would have to be absurd for him to be moved.

Walker for a mid round pick, LHD or a goalie prospect makes a lot of sense for the Kings.

Honestly the way prices are I wouldn’t mind trading out Walker and letting Bjornfot play. Roll with what’s working.

Target a guy in the summer for LHD to replace Edler. A guy like Nikko Mikkola would have fit the bill. Carson Soucy.

Tampa is a bit light on assets. The cost of chasing multiple cups. No first or second this year. No first next year. Anyone near NHL ready on a cheap contract is in the NHL. Reminds me of '13-'14. Frattin, Carrillo. Good times.

Walker for mid round pick, other team retaining as others have said, sounds about right.

Chychrun to LA

Walker to AZ(w/picks, prospects, ELCs)

Walker(50% retained by AZ) to TBL

TBL pick(s) to AZ
That would make sense but who? That’s been the hard part considering no young roster player is moving, Turcotte just got hurt again and aside from Pinelli, all our forward prospects are in college or Onatrio.. we have tons of defensemen

Whether now or in the off-season, the Kings probably need to move 2 right shots, one to make room for the left shot that is coming, and the other to make room for Clarke. Likely it's Walker & Durzi, Roy brings too much of what they don't have outside of Anderson.
