Per The Mayor and confirmed by Bob McKenzie. I like it. Garon can be a solid backup and I'm not sold on Scrivens in the least.
Lol.
M Jones on holdout and demanding more than the 10% raise that LA offered him. his demands make no sense with .500 play and 2.60 GAA over the past few seasons. the guy doesn't have much bargaining room to work with.
i see this more as a play to get traded out and out of the shadow of J Quick and the likely backup of Scrivens. he's looking to be moved
Where would he go that would give him a better chance? If any team was clamoring for a backup this season, Garon would have gone there you'd think. The fact he's in LA, and some other decent backup level goalies like Theodore are sitting at home as camps start is indication enough no team is looking for goaltending help right now, at least not backup level help, especially the kind that has never played an NHL game in his life.
He's best to sign, go to Manchester, do well, get a recall if Quick/Scrivens get hurt or need a rest, and maybe get a few NHL minutes in. Until he at least has a NHL game or two on his resume, he's got zero bargaining power in the league.
Thinking if he earns anything it'll be a two way contract with possibility of him earning a backup role next season if Scrivens leaves as a UFA. Start in Manchester as a mentor and work his way to a NHL backup role.

The scrivshow aka. scrivelmetimbers aka. scrivedforherpleasure aka. scrivlejam will be just fine and make M. Garon look like jason labarabara's blind aunt.
scrivelmetimbers
True dat, especially when Toronto fans are still holding Reimer as the man to lead them to the promise land.
