So Voit is no longer leading the OHL in scoring. It seems like his scoring has gone down a bit since Sarnia made that big trade back in Jan. I only stat watch him, so those that watch, is that the case or has his play been consistent? Is it just that a couple other players have gone on ridiculous scoring streaks?

I think Pastujov has just been on a tear putting up almost 2 PPG since joining Sarnia so I'm sure maybe that's hurting his production especially on the PP maybe. I watched 1 game last week and Voit looked good every shift but him and his line couldn't put the puck in the net but Pastujovs line did a few times.

Rough one for the Marlies yesterday it looks like; blew a few leads in a 4-3 OT loss.
McMann with the ‘prospect’ goal; Villeneuve, Abruzzese and Abramov with the prospect apples.

I have some serious complaints about this thread.

Specifically:
- makes me not want to give up any of them in a trade.
- makes me impatient to see them in our lineup
- makes me not want to give up any of them in a trade.
- makes me not want to give up any future draft picks since we seem to be pretty darn good at it.
- makes me not want to give up any of them in a trade.

My grievances here are real and I insist them being addressed and allayed. Whom do I sue???

Cheers all Thanks for keeping us in the loop.

Well the good news is our GM seems to feel the same way as you

It's good to be excited but it's also important not to get too excited because a lot of people do well in Junior and then it doesn't really translate to the NHL game.

You are good.

Congratulate yourself in seeing the future and ignoring the present.

As an original 6 fan, that's all we've ever had since 1967.

Is Grebyonkin coming to North America next season? Does he a have a good chance of making the leafs?
His khl contract runs until the end of next year. source:

If he's smart, he will play in amur next year. Making the leafs, I say no. He needs to learn the little things first. He's an offensively leaning player.

Not really his choice, and if he was truly NHL-ready, he would be a key player for Magnitogorsk.

Chebykin and Kizimov both have another year too. Nobody cares about Bobylev... He hasn't been able to come out of nowhere and suddenly not suck like Chebykin, Kizimov, and Kara have.

Ovchinnikov is already signed. Kara's contract expires next year but he may need one more year in the KHL... We'll see how he does in the playoffs. Peksa and Akhtyamov's contracts also expire, but they need to actually make the KHL in the first place. The best thing about the expiries for them may be that they can maybe choose a place where they play.

Still not doing all that great with the Russian drafting but it is crazy with these guys who have been dead in the water for like 5 years straight and then come out and just start lighting things up in the KHL.

Lisowsky seems to be having a good season, 51 points in 48 games, 36 points Even strength... favours comparably to Minten, who has 47 points in 40 games, but only 20 points even strength.
The points on the surface are underwhelming, but what’s impressive is that he’s doing it on the 2nd line. I have high expectations for him next year.

Has there ever been an explanation for the wild discrepancies in Dennis Hildeby's weight? On draft day I seem to recall something like 240+ lbs, hockeydb currently has him listed at 174 lbs and internet searches have weights like 234, 238, 209, etc. Looks thin if anything based on his hockeydb profile pic.

Didn't realize it but Chebykin really has come out of nowhere .. he's like the prototypical Russian development: Little KHL time as a youngster as evidence of his 13 games played from ages 19-22 (scoring 1 goal). 16 and 18 games in years 3 and 4 (8 goals, 3 assists in those games).

Now he's played 58 games with 13 goals, 25 points.

A big body (6'3) forward like him is always something to watch although he is 25 now.

Kizimov, since being on loan, has 5 goals and 12 points in 16 games .. I think he was always something of a boom/bust with his offensive skillset. He seems to be making the most of his early opportunity considering he's 23. Wonder what kind ice time he's getting.

Kara also has a wild jump like Chebykin. 103 games in his first 4 years in the KHL, puts up 8 goals and 8 assists. Fairly meh production. But this year he's up to 62 game along and has 19 goals, 13 assists. He's 24 now.

At this point I'm expecting Ovchinnikov to have a big breakout like the others. We've noted he's only getting 4th line TOI put producing well in that role (5 goals, 12 points in 62 games).

Getting a player out of 1 of these for the Leafs would be a good success, 2 would be incredible though as there is some potential here.

No idea what goes into their late round selection process here but it seems like offensive upside is part of it.

Hockey db isn't the most reliable when it comes to measurements. They still have him listed at 6'2. He's 6'6.
