My all time favourite McBain moment was when The Critic was reviewing his movie (which was horrible) and asked him "how do you sleep at night?" to which he replied in his Arnold voice "On top off lahhhge piles off money vit many beeeeooteeeful vimen".

You ever watch the full McBain movie people have put together from seasons of Simpsons clips?

Any updates on Niemela? Is the AHL in the works for him next year?

Hoping he can be a PP specialist down the line.

Niemela was always more of a defensive player. Last year was a pleasant anomaly for him offensively.

I think it is more likely he turns into another Liljegren than a PP specialist. Strong PKer and 20+ minute guy who can also put up multiple 30 point seasons in his prime.

And while Liljegren, Sandin, and Niemela may never be giants, they are all more than capable of handling physical play and should be around 6'0", 200lbs each once they fully fill out.

Thanks for that, just read up on a updated scouting report. Not sure why I had him as a pure offensive player in my head. That's exciting. Can always use more solid defenders.

Hopefully he can come play in the AHL next season.

He almost certainly will be. Same with Hirvonen and Ovchinnikov. I imagine Hildeby will too, assuming we can open up the log jam in net.

A few Marlies should be graduating next year, so there will be spots for the new guys.

Hirvonen has been really disappointing. I don't think he'll be an NHL player. Small and slow. Doesn't have any standout ability. His scoring has been stagnating in Liiga.

Niemelä I think is way better.

Yeah he definitely hasn't developed as hoped. We'll see how he does in the AHL next season.

Didn't we switch goalie coaches in the off season??
The Leafs brought in Curtis Sanford (former NHLer) as the head of the goalie department. Did a fantastic job in Vancouver with Demko and Martin. Also brought in Jon Elkin who was Murray's coach when he was in Junior and I think with the Pens. Probably why Murray is playing so well. Playing for a guy that really knows him and what works for him.

There are so few NHL players that are both small and slow and the few that do make it are more skilled than Hirvonen. Though his production doesn’t look as bad when you look at his team’s stats, they must be playing a very defensive system there.
