3 NCAA guys I'd keep tabs on for either this year or next years signings. Since I know we love NCAA guys.

1) Jake Livingstone, big offensive dmen who can thread through with passing or skating. 15 points in 16 games so far. Definitely should be a target in mind coming this offseason.

2) Parker Ford, small but explosive and competitive forward. Fantastic skater and will throw the body around. Good on both ends of the ice.

3) Ben Steeves, having an excellent first season for Minnesota with 12 goals in 15 games. He is Alex's brother and would probably come here.

Honorable Mentions:

Ryan Mcallister (just blowing up the league right now, top scorer in NCAA as a freshman definitely interested to see if he can continue putting up comical numbers)

Jami Kramilla (Veeti Miettinen's teammate. Small but excellent hockey sense, great playmaker)

Gabriel Seger (more of an AHL contract type of guy, but kids got some size, can move the puck around well pwf type.)
I am still sad we lost out on Mcbain....for reasons...

He did well last year, I thought he looked okay in preseason even without points he played the body.

He was out for a while, some injury?
Yes he was injured. He's on a 5 game point streak right now, and seems to be a very effective physical presence with some offensive upside. Good depth player to have

Idk how anyone can doubt Knies. This is the rare prospect of ours whose game should actually translate better at the highest level. He's producing well but even if he wasn't, he is ready to help forecheck and provide more energy than a lot of our lineup right now. Microstats, eye test, kid passes every exam.

I really do think he might slide right into 2LW at the end of his season. This guy is a gamer, when it means a lot he will be ready. The team thought he was ready last year and he's more ready now. I haven't been this sure about a prospect since Matthews.

Apparently his underlying prospect numbers in terms of how he is in the NCAA is off the charts, can’t miss territory.

Hope this isn't asking for too much but can someone put together a list ranking who's having the best season so far with a last year comparable to current date.

I feel like it would be cool to have something like this with it being updated 3 or 4 times throughout the year.

Of course I don't know how to do this and I'm too lazy to figure it out myself, but doesn't hurt to ask if anyone else is interested.

I was at the Marlies game as well. One thing I'll say about SDA. He truly looked like the best player on the Marlies. Like you could just see it with his skill, the way he processed the ice and just the way he played. I wasn't sure if we would ever get that from him. So this is awesome to see.

I didn't notice Steeves as much as I thought I would. Abruzzese showed great speed. I think the most concerning for me was Abramov, he was not noticeable.

I have been curious if (Fusco) transferring and potentially becoming the guy at Dartmouth ... could make him a bit of a dark horse prospect...

Now at 6 points in 11 games and a +1 on a very poor Dartmouth team (they're 1-9-1 and have a -16 goal differential). Lots of their players are in the -7 to -10 range...
... -5 for Fusco tonight.

Miettinen is quiety doing well with 19 pts in 18 games but I find it odd looking at his stats that he doesn't score more goals considering he has a lethal shot.
Veeti has always been a prospect that peaked my interest. It was your typical Dubas style pick wherein he was able to find value in a player late in a draft based on 1 or multiple variables that other organizations could not overlook. In Veeti's case it was an abnormal development path in Finnish Jr. A

His release is NHL already. Like top tier NHL. Yes, You always want to see some form of linear progression in statistics year over year with prospects, which hasn't necessarily been the case with Veeti. But, I will say although I know very little about St. CLoud's program or NCAA in general, I do believe the below things to be true based on what I've read in this forum:

1) St. Cloud has been a fairly vet heavy roster since Veeti arrived, which has undoubtedly limited some of his opportunities.
2)From my understanding St. Cloud doesn't run your typical top 6/bottom 6 lineups. They roll lines more equally. This may have helped Veeti establish himself in his freshmen year, but may have also limited him from taking the next step as he was maybe not getting any more TOI in his sophomore year.

I definitely think we should sign Veeti eventually, but I also think he is a very academic kid. He may want to return for his senior year. I am not overly concerned by that though. I have complete trust in our organization to make Veeti know that our organization is the best choice for his development should he choose to return to school and become a UFA thereafter.
