So does he need clear waivers to be sent back down, or no because emergency recall?
it follows the same 30 (consecutive Days) / 10 waiver rules.
probably not going to happen, i forsee the leafs cycling anderson, steeves , gaudette, and abruz to see which ones can hand around longterm.

Cumulative*

If it is a regular recall, he has:
13.5 Waiver Expiration.
(i) ... thirty (30) days (cumulative) or plays ten (10) NHL Games (cumulative)
if it is emergency recall, he has:
13.5 Waiver Expiration.
(ii) ... ten (10) NHL Games (cumulative) while on emergency Recall.

It is not an emergency recall. You can't use emergency recalls until you play 1 game short a player, which the leafs surprisingly haven't done yet this year

Goal and 2 assists for Miettinen
Voit assist
Moldenhauer returned from injury and had an assist

Miettinen might be coming back to relevance.. strong sophomore season with a stagnant second year, production wise, but he's not PPG+ through 17 games .. pacing the same number of goals but getting more assists.

3 NCAA guys I'd keep tabs on for either this year or next years signings. Since I know we love NCAA guys.

1) Jake Livingstone, big offensive dmen who can thread through with passing or skating. 15 points in 16 games so far. Definitely should be a target in mind coming this offseason.

2) Parker Ford, small but explosive and competitive forward. Fantastic skater and will throw the body around. Good on both ends of the ice.

3) Ben Steeves, having an excellent first season for Minnesota with 12 goals in 15 games. He is Alex's brother and would probably come here.

Honorable Mentions:

Ryan Mcallister (just blowing up the league right now, top scorer in NCAA as a freshman definitely interested to see if he can continue putting up comical numbers)

Jami Krannilla (Veeti Miettinen's teammate. Small but excellent hockey sense, great playmaker)

Gabriel Seger (more of an AHL contract type of guy, but kids got some size, can move the puck around well pwf type.)

Moore again was using the words them and their in describing the team post game.
Todd asked him about the success of the penalty kill, and Moore said "just challenging them, Snowy's done a good job in pushing them to be better and finding another level. Their details are getting sharper and we look more connected out there.
It's happened a little bit too many times that maybe it's just the way he talks, but hearing a coach use those words as if he's seperate from the team just sounds strange.

Is the plan for him to go back for his final year or is he hoping to go pro after this year? Would need to open up a contract slot for him as well.

John Fusco 1 goal 1 assist. Guess I’m the only one who follows prospects. :sarcasm:
Haha

I have been curious if him transferring and potentially becoming the guy at Dartmouth (even if it's a lesser ranked NCAA program) could make him a bit of a dark horse prospect. He must've had his reasons for leaving Harvard...

Now at 6 points in 11 games and a +1 on a very poor Dartmouth team (they're 1-9-1 and have a -16 goal differential). Lots of their players are in the -7 to -10 range... Having said that, he's also on the older side at 21.

Still holding a candle for Ryan O'Connell. Not to mention an inevitable Pierce Norton comeback.

Why are the Marlies trotting out dusters like Slaggert, Johnstone and Chyzowski and at the same time burying Gogolev in the ECHL? He came in a couple years ago and took over for a 13 game span and earned a contract. He just has never been given the same kind of usage. Poor production on the Marlies last season in reduced minutes but he shot out the lights for the Growlers last season and now this one so far.

He was given chances early last year and failed to make an impact offensive while being a major liability defensively. Add in that he never really bought in and he is what he is right now. He easily could amount to a lot, but he has a lot to work on and doesn't seem willing or able to improve there, much like the problems he had in the OHL.

Wouldn't be surprised if he is moved at some point.

Johnstone should be in the ECHL, but we gave McMann a shot last year and he went from major scrub to ELC, and Hoefenmayer was a mediocre offensive defenseman last year and is a PPG this year. So it wouldn't be a surprise if Chyzowski, Slaggert, etc. flip a switch, but I would rotate in as many promising young guys as possible. Gogolev may be included in that if he earns it, but guys like Solow and Centazzo may be in line before him. Or even Budgell. But overall, the Marlies probably need to find a new crop of guys next year. Not sure if any of these guys, after watching them for a year or two, will turn into anything at the NHL level but at the same time, I said the same thing about guys like McMann and Holl so it is somewhat volatile.

"we look more connected"

I think it might be his style.

We read here "we won" "we suck" "we ..." from posters, as if posters did any of those things.

Perhaps some would find it more acceptable if he took ownership on losses and less so on wins.

"We struggled to find our game tonight..."
"They played their hearts out and deserved this victory!"

Such a weird thing to be bothered by. They are the ones that play the game. I don't think he's saying it to be seperate from the team but a coach can only do so much and the players are the ones that land up playing the game. I think you're reading way too much into it.

Livingstone is 6'4 and a right shot...he has skills as you've alluded to...how's the skating?

McMann has been healthy lately and playing pretty well. Might be someone the Leafs want to test if they run into more injuries. Leafs are not missing winger depth with at all.

He just scored a goal on a big time snipe.
