Waiting until the last hour and losing out on other good players is to big of a risk for a rental that most teams can not chance.

The only reason teams are going to miss out on him is because they're all offering the equivalent of Logan Stanley, Nic Petan and a first, and that's noones fault but their own :laugh:

Dorion easily had a first, a fourth, Lemmy, Petan and Perreault for an unsigned Stone. Jets might even have thrown in a second. That whole deal is gone now.

At least a few of us Sens fans can get a few laughs looking at the seemingly childlike reactions and threats lobbed at the current team and its fans, some of them legit read like "im taking my ball and going home", in this trying time we appreciate your efforts.

In all reality most insults fall on deaf ears or in agreement, making fun of the Sens current or future state as well as their current personnel no longer affects most hardcore fans to be honest, this has been 2+ years now of worst case scenarios over and over again which we discuss on the reg on our board!

Not really, all the pressure is on Dorion.

By all means, present it.

From my POV Winnipeg, one potential buyer, has already turned elsewhere.

Exactly. One potential buyer turned elsewhere and acquired a (lesser) asset, so that puts pressure on the other teams like Nashville, Calgary, Vegas, even Dallas now that Zucc is injured.

We're an hour and change away from the deadline, so a team is bound to crumble and pony up Dorion's ask or close to it. We'll see what happens! Playing the long game is definitely the right thing to do imo.

We don't know what Chevy offered Ottawa, but they seemed very serious about doing a deal. Then Dorion leaves Winnipeg and there are reports of other teams' offers for Stone. That just seems like negotiating in bad faith, considering the lengths they were going to (negotiating an extension, etc). Chevy probably offered something fair, but I'm guessing Dorion turned it around on the others to get more. That is in his right, but when you're so close to the deadline, that's not a game you should be playing if you're not prepared to lose.

People honestly think Dorion has hand here? He is getting squeezed and the return is almost certainly going to be less than it would have been last night. He has an hour to make a deal and the other teams know he has to do something.

Was thinking what the best Pittsburgh could do would be;

1st, Maatta, Simon + prospect.

Probably not enough compared to other offers.
