None of those are NHL ready or currently playing in the NHL though... and they don't have a 1st this year?

Everything I said is factually correct.
It doesn’t matter. You won’t get the return you think you’ll get for Marcus.

Fans always over value their players.

Wow, what happened here?

That has to change the Canucks plans pretty heavily.

Depends on the cost, if Ruthervin want to sign Pettersson as a UFA anyways, and they view the cost as negligible, I think there's a good chance they still do it.

I feel like Vancouver is going to make a move for Pettersson in the next day or so.

Pettersson would be such a luxury at 3 LD. He's played played top pair LD for the Pens for the last few years.
I don't know if that's more or less because of the Pens left side being absolute ass or if Pettersson is truly a top pairing LHD, because I think at best he was a good 2nd pairing LD and on a team like the Jets, 3rd pair LD is pretty insane depth if Pettersson is used that way. For the Canucks he'd be their 2nd pairing LD which they desperately need and want him for.

Not that Marcus is bad, but more often than not, he was thrown into that top pairing spot because of Dumoulin falling apart and rushing back from injuries paired with some inconsistent play, the botched job on POJ and others like Pickering not ready yet.

He 100% plays on the jets 2nd pairing.

Pettersson is a stud.

He's not a PP QB, but he's a number 2 dman and probably your best PK guy for most teams

Definitely someone I wanted to keep but paying him let's say 6 to 6.5 for 7 or 8 years when we probably will suck doesn't make sense. The assets we can get will help us more. Hard for me to say that. Definitely a player I will miss.

Pens called up Pickering and have been playing Shea. Petts is on the block as Pens are not likely to extend him. It is all part of the makeover here and Pens are going to develop Pickering.Tthe major moves will come on the off season but Petts is in demand.

I know It's still somewhat early, nobody has played 20 games yet but the Pens look done.

I know they are only a couple points out of the 2nd wildcard spot but everybody ahead of them has at least 2 games in hand, and somehow the Rangers have 4.

I think we can put the pens in the seller category.

What can Pittsburgh expect?

It will be interesting to see how Dubas handles this because he's never sold before and before anybody brings up the Guntzel trade that's not selling, yes he brought back some futures, but he also got a top 6 winger back, that is not selling.

This will be the first time in his NHL GM career he TRULY sells.
What would Pens give up for a team to take on Karlsson contract? Makes for a quick retool this summer.

Beau Akey and the Blues 2nd rd pick 2024 would probably be our best offer. I think Akey is a good fit for the Penguins style, but realistically won't be helpful till 2026/27 at the earliest.

I think this offer is pretty decent. Throw on Skinner to make the cap work and I could actually see that being workable.

Akey doesn't pop off the paper but Wheeler's scouting report of him seems very good and the Blues 2nd should be in the 45-50 range probably.

Weird to see some Penguins fans discussing having “NHL ready players” brought back in a return for MP like it would be a deal breaker if it doesn't happen.
