Waiting for Edge to tell me how to feel re: what's next.
other than the Mac trade what other major assets did he have to trade away and score big with? Everybody knew that the assets on the rangers were worn out and towards the end of their value and use. The guy is done a great job, and trying to suggest that he simply fell into this great situation is really selling him short. There's a reason our farm is absolutely stocked and the guy is able to just piss away a second rounder to get rid of staal, it's because he's done so much good in stocking assets and making the right movesEhhhh.. He had the benefit of liquidating a playoff caliber roster. Such a jump start on a rebuild compared to other teams that sucked so bad they HAD to rebuild, the Rangers chose to.
Please please pleaseWould rather Barzal.
Ok gotcha. I'm hoping this is for an ADA extension and not Strome, but yeah the fallout of this extra space for this year will be an interesting one to follow.I don't mind giving up a pick to get the salary of the books but am scared about the fallout. I think Strome will get a long-term deal which is a mistake.
This also opens up the possibility of an offer sheet.
they can keep their guys and extend one.

Honestly it should've, it definitely ruined him. He had gotten paid and could've live a fine life by collecting insurance checks. But he wants to fight. It's why it feels so bad to hate on the dude.Bittersweet because Staal has been a Ranger since 2005 and he seems like a great guy off the ice, but man, he sucked. He's been absolutely awful ever since the injury by his older brother.
But Staal is a warrior. That eye injury could've ended many careers.
Correct all worn out assets toward the end of their value and usage. which one of those guys that was dealt was an impact player anywhere after they were traded? The only one that's done anything is hayes and NYR made the right decision not giving him that contract he wanted. Thanks for making my point.Hayes, Nash, Stepan, Brassard
Would love to know if this is a precursor to something or if the Rangers just want to avoid buyout penalties as a matter of course.
And with one move nobody expected, the cap crunch people were so worried about next year is alleviated.
Yeah, I smell some Godfather shit going on here for sure. Also the Rangers absolutely made a handshake deal here to offer him a position within the organization in exchange for waiving the NMC right?
Like who willingly waives to go to Detroit right now
Am I reading this correctly that we now have 20 big ones in cap space?
Right now, yes, but just the compulsory shit we have to do vis-a-vis RFA's is going to eat a lot of it.Am I reading this correctly that we now have 20 big ones in cap space?
