He went from “GET OFF THE ICE” in the regular season for the Panthers to “I’M PRETTY COMFORTABLE WITH YOU ON THE ICE” in the playoffs. Was such a funny turn of events with him in the playoffs.

I know he's been kinda getting dumped on in the twilight of his career, but I remember him being a really good defender back during most of his years with the Rangers. Cool to see him and Eric calling it quits the same year.

He was quite good in his first 10 years as a Ranger. Over 1100 games played from him, I didn't realize he's been in the league for that long.

Only five Rangers have played more games than him. Ratelle not, Lundqvist not, Bathgate or Messier not, didn't necessarily perceive him that way.

I have a soft spot for him. He was part of some really good Rangers teams before injuries took a very heavy toll on him. I'll always look back fondly on his time on the team.

He was a huge part of the last decade of Rangers hockey.

Aged horribly but he was pretty good in his earlier seasons

As others have mentioned, prior to his injuries (eye and concussions primarily), he was a really solid defender with great reach and defensive zone positioning.

Also the goal he scored in overtime of game 5 against the Capitals will always be legendary.

Appreciated him in Detroit. He lost a lot to the injury and still found a way to have a long career. It is hard to play that long in the league no matter how many shots are taken by some in this thread. I hope he enjoys retirement. Good hockey player and a good teammate by almost all accounts.
