I am sure. That sucks for Staal. I'm sure a segment of "fans" are giddy by this news.
Though could this be the Wally Pip moment?

Get outta here with your bull crap. That sucks for Staal. I'm sure a segment of "fans" are giddy by this news.
He should've retired years ago, but I can understand if he tries to ride out his contract. He's getting paid millions for being bad at his job.I wonder if Staal ever gets sick of this (and by that I mean the injuries not the fan *****ing) and considers hanging them up. He's been healthy scratched now and the writing is on the wall... father time waits for no man. Maybe he plays out whatever is left of this season after this and then he's done?
Lmaooo, I've been teetering on the edge trying to contain myself but seeing him fall on Geo just made me see red.You know that whenever the Staal thread gets bumped, it's going to be somebody that's finally been pushed over the edge.
Yeah, Tony had a hell of a game but he still couldn't stop Staal from creating two goals for the Isles. You know whats funny?
His analytics were awesome tonight! But holy f*ck was he bad.
Disdain for a guy who gave his heart, soul, health and a friggin' eye to a team you root for?No Rangers player has ever frustrated me more and made me feel such disdain for someone I don't even know.
Fire him into the nearest sun
Once I saw him topple over last night like a Jenga tower I lost it. I agree he was a great soldier for a decent period of his career, but that time is long gone and just seeing the utter incompetence infuriates me. I cannot tell you the last time I saw him win a board battle. Or get a meaningful shot on net. Or do anything that makes me go "Hmm. That was actually a really good play, y'know what? Staal had a real good game today!"Disdain for a guy who gave his heart, soul, health and a friggin' eye to a team you root for?
We all know that he is not much more suited than to be a 7th defenseman at this point. But really? This type of vitriol?
Still does not warrant such vitriol. The guy have everything he had to this team. Want him retired all you want, but that can be discussed with a modicum of respect.Once I saw him topple over last night like a Jenga tower I lost it. People are entitled their opinion and can do what they want, of course. Can we respect the person but hate the player?
Because I think thats what the OP was trying to get at.

Disdain: the feeling that someone or something is unworthy of one's consideration or respect; contempt.
You may not like Staal now. But considering his service to the franchise, he certainly deserves your respect.
