As many as mentioned, Toronto got NHL level goaltending tonight and they won. Who would have thought scoring 4 goals is enough to win in the NHL

Not sure what's going on with Nylander. Twice, on the power play to start the third, he was unable to receive a soft pass to him that most 10 year olds could have easily received. This concerns me.Johnny sure looked happy not playing with Nylander

Amazing
Anyone else feel like Clifford was 100x more effective than Simmonds has been in ages? He throws hits, hounds the puck, and just feels everywhere
The Stars are old and slow
Yeape. People have to keep that in mind. Seguin has lost a step or two after his hip and knee surgery
Jamie Benn seems like he lost a step and can't move on ice
Pavelski just old
Gurinov has been a dissapointment considering the draft class
Great game all around. Should have been 5-0 if it wasn't for Ottenger
Good stuff
they were shutout not shut down. big differencePavs is old but he’s PPG + this year and contributing on one of the best lines in hockey. They were shut down tonight which is impressive.
I forgot, the 27th placed Sabres, the 30th placed Yotes, and the 32nd place MTL who smashed us are all young and fast and very good teams... I can tell you the reason why we lost to all those teams, it was because we did not get NHL goaltending in those games. The Stars are old and slow

Whether or not they are old and slow, they are good enough to be one point out of a playoff spot 60 games into the season.
Happy for the kid, but I really feel that the team played much better defensively in front of him. One thing I noticed, was that his rebound control was somewhat shaky.
The important thing is, he kept the puck on the right side of the goal line. Cheers to you, young man and let’s do this again to the Canes!

More like the team watching Mrazek flop around the net letting in shots from the red line*. That's what happens when we get average NHL goaltending.Mrazek watching this team tonight

Yup, have to subtract overtime wins, or as I call them, ties. There are now 'overtime wins'. Major advantage. Apples and oranges.
I get Kapanen vibes from Mik. Skates like the wind, great PK but couldn't score on breakaway if his ass was on fire and streaky as hell. I won't miss him if he doesn't resign honestly. Just like I don't miss KK.I thought Mikheyev had a strong game. I know the finish isn't there, and probably won't ever be, but when he's got that jump in his step, his speed makes him really effective. I'd like to see it more consistently.
Tavares looked better tonight too. Some are saying its playing with Marner, but I thought Nylander looked better away from Tavares too. I think the second line is just not working as is and it is dragging down every guy on it. How to fix that without breaking up the Bunting/Matthews/Marner trio, I don't know.
And obviously, great start for Kallgren. Nice to get some needed goaltending.
Hard to keep attention to detail and play steady when you’re afraid every mistake or even routine shots are going end up going in. There’s a lot to be said for how the poor goalie play contributes to erratic play in front of themI think it is the appreciation of an actual 60 minute effort from the whole team.
