Oh agreed. The detroit game by jack was horrific. The Vancouver game wasn’t an easy one for him.


Mrazeks buffalo goal was just as bad.

I wonder if it’s coachign

We are only 4 games either way , from being the best team out there …

Not Keefe's jobs to stop chances that should be basic saves.

So... What is this edition of Clifford we've seen over the past two games? He looks good. Skating great, physical and not letting plays die on his stick... Not sure if it is sustainable but he is useful in this form.

Major upgrade on the Wayne Train. Saw he is on the non-NHL roster now too. Was he just playing to get to 1000? Was he playing through something?

Either way, this Clifford v2.0 > Simmonds.

Not going to buy in to the hype just yet, but Kallgren clearly plays a lot calmer than the other two goalies we've iced all season. That has to help the guys around him enough. Mrazek scrambles too much and Campbell's mental is shot.
 
to be fair to the leafs as a whole, its clear the last 3 months they have had to cheat for offense since they probably believed they had to score 4 or 5 goals to win(they often did) when the team knows it will get the saves that they should they can play within the system alot better and not have to go all out all the time on offense, which also helps with the forwards coming back to offer short quick outlets to the defense. its pretty evident when we get good goaltending we are more of the 20 - 2 team that we were early and not what we have been since january.

does JT have some weird mental block that only allows him to play like a 1C if he's literally on the first line? I know there's a Marner effect but he just looks like a completely different player. Confident with the puck, not lumbering around... He's gotta get over whatever this is because we need him at this level to be a real contender.

I can’t believe the Refs and league didn’t give Leafs more power plays. I just found out in the mainboards that the Toronto situation room is using Leaf’s fans to screw over teams like the Habs. I guess that explains why we always get the Refs helping us out all the time. It’s obvious the league is trying to get Leafs to the finals.

Toronto media is the worst, we are either the greatest team in the world or the worst and it switch each time after a win or a loss. To be fair though our goaltending has been atrocious since Christmas basically. I mean AHL teams have better save percentages in the NHL than us…

That being said I like the additions Dubas made in the off-season but NHL coaches need to get their head examined regarding some of the personnel choices. Simmonds is no longer an NHLer and other than dropping the gloves he has no reason to be on the ice anymore than I do. Find an AHL call up or Clifford who has at least been decent. Stop putting Robertson on the 4th line playing 8 minutes a night. Lastly the media needs to stop piling on good players. Liljegren has gotten so much hate from the Overdrive boys, Carlo and the morning show you’d think he had kicked their dog or cat. Kid is in his first full season with the club and has what 16/17 points in 44 games and is a plus 8 with zero PP time. Seriously admit you were wrong about the kid and being overal critical when he makes a mistake or gets out muscled by JT Miller. Jeez.

Sorry for the long diatribe but it’s our media that causes players not to want to be here. They are the reason our players get it in their head they should be making 20 million a season. Seriously shut up and stop with the damn hot takes. Do we have some issues with the team, sure but no other team has been handcuffed more by the flat cap then the TML and yet we still are and have been one of the premier teams in the league this whole time.
