We all get it. You hate Tavares. Why do you feel the need to fill the thread with the exact same post every page?

Any money that if Tavares was at his career average shooting percentage for ES goals right now, people don't say anything about him. Or they will and they will be complaining about a career year. He is shooting sub 10% at ES this year. Everything else he is close to or better than his career bests. The difference between that and what he is right now is 4 ES goals.

That just tells me he's a player that lacks in game awareness and self control. He's going to cost the Leaf goals, and perhaps a game or two in the playoffs if he doesn't change.

I agree. But the way I see the Leafs activate Lyubushkin leads me to believe these guys are all actively encouraged to make risky calculations like that. And that’s a coaching issue.

yea see that is the kind of transition we cannot allow. That is pathetic IMO. You gotta hustle back to make it difficult for opposition to get off a quality chance

little things like these make a difference in the playoffs

That's exactly what it is. The style of hockey Tavares plays doesn't match the way the rest of the team is constructed (short of guys like Clifford and Simmonds). They either need to commit to moving him to the wing and letting him play like John Leclair, or they need to get a couple of wingers that will work with him, rather than speedsters, because he can't keep up with them. He's like JVR, in that he's not a quick strike style player, which is how most of the Leafs wingers operate.

He’s like a slower JVR and Hyman hybrid with the two way reputation of an O’Rielly and pedigree of a Stamkos. He’s statistically productive but has a hard time living up to the status of player suggested by his contract and captaincy.
