They keep their pace up and game clear of a lot of the little cute backhand touch passes the Leafs are so fond of in high danger places.

The first goal they scored, I have seen them do a lot of.... sending the puck cross ice and the receiver directing it to the net without cradling the puck. I'd like to the Leafs do this a lot more, instead of trying to pick corners and do the behind the back passes.

Marner and Matthews are a much more effective duo when they aren't just confined to archetypes. Matthews has to get chances to make plays, and Marner has to get chances to score. They're almost impossible to defend against when they can't be predicted
