Good one, Randy!
I’m not joking. Why is the game allowed to be played differently than it has been the whole year? Does baseball suddenly make the bases 93 feet apart instead of 90? Football, a much more physical game than hockey where imposing your will is the way to dominate is called the same throughout the year, so why hockey?

People keep talking about Simmonds, but they have Lucic, Gudbranson, Ritchie, Zadarov and about 3 or 4 other guys that play a greasy game. Simmonds is just one guy. Their whole team is built like that.
Simmonds, Ritchie, Clifford ... this would be a completely different game

A lot of good teams have learned that it’s easier to play by the other set of rules than to try and change the game.

How many playoff rounds can we cry about the refs not calling a lot of penalties before we realize we might want to be prepared to not need it?

I think they do it right in football. They let a few more competition plays go (i.e. holding or interference) as long as it doesn't severely impact the other guy's ability to make a play.

If you horse-collar a guy or completely impede their ability to make a play, they will call it.

NHL, it seems like they don't even pay attention. One team can get away with everything and the other can get away with nothing.

The question has been asked for years. It is not changing soon. Best to get used it. Better if we took advantage of the "rule".

I am concerned about Campbell having a .750 save percentage... Sure. Nobody is winning with that.

The rest, I am not concerned about... Because if we even get basic goaltending, we are at least tied in this game, and we win a lot more games than we lose.
Flames laid off the body for a while and Leafs still owning the fancy stats. You're correct at this point. This ones on Campbells shoulders 100%, the playoff loss blueprint was more in the moment fury comparisons.
