4th worst save percentage 5-on-5 in that period, and Mrazek is bringing that up with his mediocre .903. Campbell has an .879.

Meanwhile, we are top 10 in every defensive category in that time. Sure, we had some bad defensive games in there... But our goaltending (or mostly Campbell) has been absolutely deplorable.

If people genuinely believe our defense is the reason why Campbell has an .879 5-on-5 save percentage, with a .660 HDSV%, then I don't know what to tell you. His actual GAA is 3.55, and the xGAA is 2.35.

Today is no different. Most of those 5 goals against right now are squarely on Campbell. Markstrom is making those saves on the other end. Campbell simply is not.

Most of the goals today are Campbells fault? 1st goal is a guy wide open in the slot. 2nd goal is just terrible defensive coverage and a cross crease goal off a faceoff play. 3rd goal Campbell should have. 4th goal was another awful defensive coverage. 5th goal I missed but I heard he was screened so idk. So 2 of the 5 goals you can blame him and the other 3 are because our defence off the rush sucks and defensive zone coverage sucked. Easy to blame a goalie I guess though.

People keep talking about Simmonds, but they have Lucic, Gudbranson, Ritchie, Zadarov and about 3 or 4 other guys that play a greasy game. Simmonds is just one guy. Their whole team is built like that.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'd love to have him. I wanted the Leafs to get him years ago when he was in Colorado. If you can play him on the 3rd pairing with a partner like Sandin, you're looking good.
