Speaking of Leafs Lunch, I thought Frankie Corrado did a great job. Offered great insight and is generally quite articulate.

He did do a good job, maybe get an extended look. As this was the first time I have listened to both segments of Leaf lunch. I didn't agree with his take on Lilly though, but i can understand why he has it.

I miss Andi though. It doesn't have the same energy since she left.

It is but it's NJ so it's not enough, now if he looks like that tonight against Calgary? that's different maybe he's coming out of it.

We need the old Jack back tonight because 1st place is right there for them
Devils have beaten Tampa, Panthers, Carolina, they are an NHL team. Let's not downplay stopping 31 of 32 shots for a .969 save %

Fair point. Maybe this is the new paradigm taking shape and we're watching trailblazers at work. ;)

Every player has their ups and downs. Jack's played too well for too long for us for me to be too worried about him just yet. 1st place would obviously be sweet but more important that he's ready to rock when the real games start.
Maybe we could text the dressing room, hey guys these aren't real games. LOL!

I wondered whether you would say that, no shit. Thanks for the shot of reality.. :(

Haha no worries. Don't take it literally man, I know you value the regular season results more than most people but the reality is, pretty much every player in North America grows up dreaming about winning the Stanley Cup one day but I have never, and I mean not even once heard a player say that his dream growing up was to finish 1st overall during the regular season and win the Presidents Trophy.

The cup is where it's at baby, the regular season is just one long preamble. Not 100% meaningless, but a preamble nevertheless.

Yeah I get that, as a kid I thought the same way. I really couldn't watch games if they didn't matter to me. I thought fans maybe looked at it a bit different than players or kids and their dreams.

Didn't Alberta just declare the Pandemic over? should be sold out in Calgary right? ;)

Like I said, don't take it literally. Every game matters, it's just that playoff games matter exponentially more, or to most of us they do anyway. Tonight's game for example I feel rather invested in, and not just because I bet 20 bucks of my proline bonus cash "free money" on it either. :)

You know the more I think about it, during the regular season we as kids did focus on trying to finish the regular season in first place. And then watching my son play we as parents would watch the standings and talk about, 2 games behind etc.. We only thought of the league championship once the playoffs actually started. I guess we never had the bigger picture in mind and never looked that far ahead.

For kids it's different IMHO. Every game is huge and championships don't matter much, the experience of playing is the main thing. The closest I ever came to winning the title as a kid was an OT loss in the final game but enjoyed the hell out of every game I ever played, no make that every shift I ever played. :)

I don't know why TJ Brodie playing against his old team is such a big news considering he played against them 6 times last year
