Leafs will still need to sign Sandin and Liljegren and replace Kase, not to mention Campbell (who, regardless of his 2022 calendar year, is still going to command more than 1.65M, and you're not replacing him in the system with Woll/Kallgren behind Mrazek).

It's not going to be as simple as finding money on the current roster to pay for Mikheyev's raise.

The entire league had a chance to take him for free 24 days ago, and they all said NO.

I'm not as confident as you are that they can get out from underneath that deal.

A lot of money and term left on that deal.

Campbell is just awful. Been awful for four months. Sub .900% every game for four straight months except for maybe 4-5 games. Gonna get smoked in the first round. I keep saying it, not gonna stop saying it.

Don't look slow at all when playing a game tailored to their skill sets. Yeah they don't play possession hockey like the rest of the team. It's a refreshing change of pace to throw at the opposition. Into your corner, and on your ass

Good teams are balanced and can provide different looks.

Leafs.are short on these types and they are a boost to the rest of the group. They know they can play their game more freely.
