This 6 is as good as any 6 anywhere IMO, if they keep their focus on the D side, and avoid the temptations of mixing in with the top lines to score.

Thats hindsight. Some of the losses Freddy has had this season and the goals allowed, they were what he allowed here. Good on him for the season but he needs to prove it in the playoffs.

Thats fair but our goaltending is not any better. To be seen I guess...

Part of me is convinced that if Freddie was still here, he wouldn't be having the same season he is with Carolina.

I don't know man. Some of the goals our goalies have given up were worse than what Andersen gave up in regular season (except the last when he was injured)

Hard to say really. Right now the Leafs are 19th in GA / GP. Ideally the Leafs should be around 10-15th, but goaltending is kinda making our GA/GP worse than it should be, I think Freddy could maybe have us there.

Freddy is still letting in soft goals, at inopportune times. The Canes are better defensively than us, so it covers it up mostly. Come the playoffs, it will once again be exposed.

Man same could potentially be said of our playoff offensive prowess; we think it will be different this year why can;t the same be applied to Andersen. IMO, if it wasn't for him couple series don't even go to Game 7. He stole a few games for us given our putrid defense and offense going to sleep.

I’d only feel better with Freddie if we had canes defence.

I think leafs have played much better defensively this season on average. It is the offense against tight checking that worries me a bit.

lol.. Freddy DID put up seasons like that here. He had a terrible October with .700 goaltending and then played at .950sv% for months on end every year.

And then, without fail, Freddy became October Freddy the moment the games mattered. Why are we concerned that he was let go exactly? Until he wins something I don't care, because he won't. Carolina better hope to avoid game 7's

we really shouldn't be discounting our offense not showing up in post season either.

Assume Jack back in net. Dunno what they do with that fourth line... it's a bit in shambles with no clear answer.

If Muzzin is back, it should be Holl's turn to take a seat (please).

Gio-Lilly just so good together, and Muzz-Brodie was very good too. Those will likely be the tougher usage pairings.

Boosh plays with Mo but likely replaced on most every o-zone start by Lilly or Brodie so probably gets the fewest minutes.

Most interesting thing to me is which guys get the PK time tonight. All 6 have played a good amount of PK, though Boosh has been a bit of a disaster on the PK for us.

Freddy always had the ability, I think it was his head that kept him from being an elite goalie, he has virtually no pressure with Carolina, but first game back here he looked shaky like usual, I just don't think he is built for any pressure.

From what you read about him on here he seems like he'd be the perfect Hainsey type fill in to let Rielly play his game.

This lineup against the Caps is what I expect the Leafs to look like for Game 1 of the playoffs. Holl sitting for Liljegren, and a rough energizer 4th line for when the game takes an inevitably bumpy turn. Of course that's with the assumption that Kase doesn't return, and Knies doesn't sign.

If we draw boston i hope the 4th line roughs up Hall, Marchand and especially DeBrusk. DeBrusk pisses the F outta me

No Holl? No way! It's about time Keefe takes off his Holl-coloured glasses and sees that right now, these 6D give us the best defence. However, knowing Keefe, Holl will be in for Boosh next game.

I like that fourth line against "tougher" teams, but Clifford better just hit and not take stupid penalties. If we play Boston in the playoffs, I think this line should play. If we play Tampa, Spezza should be in for Clifford.

All I want tonight is for a better effort and no one getting hurt. That's more important than the points tbh.

Thats true, but at the same time if you watched the video where he says this, he sounds more like he's unsure which way he'll go because he appreciates what all 3 of them bring. So he ultimately may go that way, we'll see.
