Leafs have 3 home games in a row.
Saturday vs Ottawa - ok
Monday vs Carolina - postponed
Wednesday vs Edmonton - ok

Trying to figure out why the middle one is postponed. I'm guessing US restriction on coming to Canada but haven't seen that confirmed.

Seeing how capacity limits was the reason they gave it doesn’t make any sense.

Exactly, it's puzzling.
Normally I wouldn't really care but I am going a little crazy stuck in the house. I think COVID may have finally broken me

Honestly, I don't care about Montreal. What they are doing doesn't apply to what is happening here, that I can see anyway.

Too compact a schedule for teams coming out of high quantity player Covid protocol to play 3 games as normal in 5-6 nights perhaps, and ditto for the opposition, without much practice time since being off.

Being off for a few weeks without practice with a respiratory illness might require an easing back in period with now the Olympic break available to use to reschedule games postponed.

That makes sense but Carolina looks to have a pretty light schedule.
Play today, Saturday then next Friday.
They haven't played since the 18th.

It has to be no? Canadian teams are playing in US, but no games scheduled in Canada vs. US teams.

I don't understand the reasoning behind why they can play in front of an empty building vs another Canadian team but not an American team.

NHL is concerned about revenue loss from the capacity restrictions in canada, thats why its cancelling games. nothing to do with health anymore. i would be shocked if the sens game is played.

I get that but they are playing the game before and after which is why it's confusing.
It beats me, but I wonder if Carolina and other American teams are concerned about stranding players in Canada if they should test positive here and then not be able to leave?

I heard that some US teams are flying in and out the same day to avoid this. If the visit is short enough they don't have to retest before departure.

All I really know is everything is in flux and it's all very confusing.

My daughter asked me this and I still haven't been able to give her an answer .

Why is Montreal playing Carolina tonight but the Leafs vs Carolina Monday is postponed?

It is even more confusing and weird because Quebec has more stricter rules than Ontario

I think Nylander should be, depends on how many days they have to be clear.
And Liljegren.
And Muzzin, added after Nylander.

Need to find newer update, this is from yesterday. Ice Chips: Leafs place Liljegren in COVID protocol - TSN.ca

The Leafs updated COVID list now includes David Kampf, Ilya Mikheyev, Petr Mrazek, Rasmus Sandin, Morgan Rielly, William Nylander, Jake Muzzin, and Liljegren.

Play with lineups like this and the entire season becomes something of a farce.

1000 fans? Might as well just do none at all, most of those will be family members and select few season ticket holders.. but I guess some revenue is greater than none

I just hope we can play and have a semi decent roster, feels like I’m in another offseason with how little hockey I’ve watched

If the Sens choose to play they can play.

If they choose to be cowards and not play then they should be forced to forfeit the game just like the world juniors did.

This is bullshit at this point.

Play or forfeit

If they didn't practice for precautionary reasons today, it's almost certainly because someone tested positive. If they have a problem, the Leafs have had a much bigger problem so be careful what you ask for. We would have had to "forfeit" more games than them.

Maybe those are fans that can afford the private boxes?
