Finally.

Losing the Olympics and Juniors really hurt so time to get hyped about this team.

Fun stats to get us hyped for the return of 2 studs this year:

xGF%, top 5v5 ranking for dmen to have played at least 250 minutes this year:

1. Sandin
2. Toews
3. McAvoy

Highest xGF% for any line in hockey to play at least 60 5v5 minutes together this year:

Bunting/Matthews/Marner


Liljegren/Muzzin out still hurts but I think those two guys will really help bring back the vibe they had when they were really rolling before they went down.

Two LHD and two RHD together might be the problem there (not for the former, but possibly for the latter). I couldn't say if either of Holl or Biega has much experience playing on the left side at the NHL level.
 
A good test for Sandin. A good bump in minutes and quality of the opponent.

Biega is a fine depth option. I think he'll do well with Dermott.

Yeah I get it. They could always dress another lefty instead of Holl or Biega.

Lilligren isn’t available?

Why, the postponed games came at a great time for the leafs, with all the Covid cases.

If Marner goes back to pp1 right away that all but confirms Dubas puts individual players ahead of the team aka the Joe Thornton effect
