Mandatory Bye Week?

Very true, Lets see if we can get over 100 pts next year? That will be tough and all eyes on our GM in the coming months. Personally, I could tolerate another off year next year if we snag another key piece in the 2019 draft to add to what we get this next draft.
Based on the mood here and the people I know, most of us are either actively pissed off or passively disinterested. Interest in the Habs is as low as I can remember. For those of us still talkin' hockey, all we have is the excitement of building from the ground up. If they can do it in a major purge between now and September -- trade assets for picks, new management, blow a load on a UFA, add some top talent -- great. I'd love to be cheering them on next season. But the chances of fixing everything before October is slim. I think fans would be fine waiting two/three years in order to do it right. If Molson has an ounce of marketing smarts, he'll recognize the window he's been given to rebuild with the blessings of most fans.

Can not agree more and the bolded part is spot on. Habs fans do need a few "wins" in the management department though. That last off season was brutal

Hang on for the ride folks... Should be an interesting few months and I'm already looking forward to see where we stand come September. With less expectations, we will head into next season with a better mindset.

Honestly, do you think MB is the guy to pull this off? Do you trust his judgements? I don't think he can pull it off, look at what he has done the last few seasons...........terrible GM.

By "New management" I meant a new GM. No effective change can happen without it. Every GM needs enough rope to learn and adapt; Bergevin learned for awhile, but stopped adapting. Whatever progress we saw with the team went into neutral in 2015, attempted a detour last year, and hit a cul-de-sac this year. He's done.

Couldn't agree more..............do you think Molson makes the change, before it's too late? The media seems to think he is going to let Bergy clean up his OWN mess..............

Molson won't make a change until it's too late.

It’s a bye week and guess what Gallagher is doing. He’s stayed in Montreal to train in the gym. True professional who is doing all he can for the team.
