If you could go back in time and re-tool this USA roster who would you remove+add to make the team better?

-Johnson +Greene
-Dubunsky +anyone

???

Maybe since most of the top players are <23 yo it was difficult, but who could have been better picks + instead of whom?

ROR is Canadian.

In fact, he's actually on Team Canada.
 
In reality and all the bias aside, how many players from the NA team would make team USA ?

I think we can all agree Matthews is not making team USA. Just yet.

Gaudreau is certainly in. Saad?
 
Did anyone notice JVR in this tournament? Never mind Bobby Ryan, JVR can't even pronounce intensity.

Even Nick Leddy would have faired better.

I think Jack Eichel gets named to this team and no one questions it. He hasn't had a great tournament, but that's hindsight.

Palmieri, and larkin were on the team, so no improvement there. Did you even watch any of the games lol?
Galchenyuk couldn't even crack the NA team, I doubt he would have made it even with full selections available.

+ Larkin was not on the US team.

I think it's a little unfair the treatment this roster is getting. They lost a game to Europe that they outshot them by nearly double, and then lost to Team Canada, which is a pretty damn good team.

The biggest and most obvious problem with the team started when Torts got the job. He's not a good coach.
 
I think a player like Chris Kreider would have added an additional speed dimension to Team USA this time around. A guy that can skate, transport the puck through the neutral zone and effectively forecheck with speed would have been a nice add. Having guys like him and the obvious omissions (kessel if healthy, tyler johnson, shttenkirk, faulk) would have obviously been solid improvements to the team, oh well...

Byfuglien is a MUCH better hockey player than Niskanen. Eric Johnson isnt bad.

Format change is probably needed.

Get rid of the all-star break entirely and replace it with an international break to drum up interest in the WCoH. Make rosters flexible for this pre-tournament period.

People keep saying stuff like this...it's nonsense...did u actually watch game btwn USA and T Euro? ...Dont wanna keep harping on this, BUT Euros had like six odd man, including a 2 on 0 breakaway, in first period alone...Except for a few times on pp , Yanks never seriously threatened.

SOmetimes shots are NOT a good indicator of which team actually dominated the game...Euro was the dominant team throughout sans doubt..Ergo this is one of those times where shot totals are TOTALLY MISLEADING
