Hasn't come up much, much less get it's own thread yet since there hasn't been much to it other than a couple of announced dates in August. When Io Shirai was signed, it was presumed he would be in the tournament, but never announced.

That said, the Mae Young Classic 2 has its first official entrant, and someone we've seen before in WWE as well:

I've been waiting for news to happen about this, the tapings are next month (8th and 9th) so they should be announcing things soon.

A few women have had to cancel dates for no reason; but as it's WWE, they obviously can't say anything until it happens. Deonna Purrazzo has probably signed, as she is no longer going to be on the All In show.

Deonna Purrazzo has been in and out of there forever. She was even on Smackdown.

I'm pretty sure she's definitely signed to WWE now, though.

Other names I'd expect offhand:

Kacy Catanzaro
Kavita Devi
Jessamyn Duke
Jazzy Gabert
Jinny
Tegan Nox (Nixon Newell's new ring name)
Marina Shafir
Io Shirai
Toni Storm
Mia Yim

Question marks for me would be Catanzaro, Duke, and Shafir and whether or not they'd make their TV debuts at MYC2 or not.

Morrison's girl?...forget her name off hand

Taya Valkyrie? Wouldn't expect if offhand given she's under contract with Impact, but who's to say.

I could also see Chelsea Green/Laurel Van Ness given she recently tried out for WWE as well as Britt Baker since she's done some work for WWE, is local to Orlando, and is dating Adam Cole.

Taya is on both impact and lucha underground I think, so that’s no bueno.

Chelsea Green I would expect to be there. She’s going to sign and go far in the tournament, I think.

2. Rhea Ripley - Was in the first tournament, been in developmental since.
3. Io Shirai - Signed to NXT.
4. Nicole Matthews - Indies, was an alternate last year.
5. Jinny - UK Indies, signed to a WWE UK deal.
6. Kacy Catanzaro - From developmental, was on Ninja Warrior.

Four more named:

  • Tegan Knox (the former Nixon Newell)
  • Deonna Purrazzo
  • Jessica Elaban
  • Reina Gonzalez
All are WWE/NXT property - Knox was named to last year's Classic (as Newell) but was unable to compete due to a knee injury. Purrazzo was an alternate for last year's and Gonzalez competed in last year's, submitting to Nicole Savoy in the first round. Not surprised to see those three (and I expected to see Knox and Purrazzo) at all. Elaban's a former collegiate basketball player and is signed to NXT and has been at the PC since last May.

Will be a shame if Carmella isn’t involved

??? None of the main roster took part in the last one. Why would they take part in this one? The closest you're going to get is somebody like Kaitlyn this year or Serena Deeb last year - ex-main roster talent who's been out of the business for awhile and is looking to use this as sort of a trial comeback with the WWE.

Four more named today:

  • Kavita Devi - NXT, MYC 1 participant, lost to Dakota Kai
  • Killer Kelly - Portuguese Indy wrestler, worked the UK Championship Tournament
  • Mercedes Martinez - MYC 1 participant, lost to Shayna Baszler
  • Mia Yim - MYC 1 participant, lost to Baszler

Two more names. First is Toni Storm, who's signed to a UK deal and is going to be a star if she gets pushed, the second is Meiko Satomura! Link and link. There's your big outside name for the tournament. Wasn't expecting that at all.

These are the 19th and 20th announced:

01. Kaitlyn - Former WWE, returning after four years of retirement.
02. Rhea Ripley - Signed to NXT, was in the first tournament.
03. Io Shirai - Signed to NXT.
04. Nicole Matthews - Indies, was an alternate last year.
05. Jinny - Signed to UK deal.
06. Kacy Catanzaro - Signed to NXT, was on Ninja Warrior.

07. Deonna Purrazzo - Signed to NXT, was an alternate last year.
08. Tegan Nox - Signed to NXT, previously known as Nixon Newell.
09. Jessie Elaban - Signed to NXT, former volleyball player.
10. Reina Gonzalez - Signed to NXT, was in the first tournament.

11. Mia Yim - Indies, was in the first tournament.
12. Mercedes Martinez - Indies, was in the first tournament.
13. Kavita Devi - Signed to NXT, was in the first tournament.
14. Killer Kelly - Singed to UK deal (from Portugal).

15. Zeuxis - CMLL.
16. Isla Dawn - Signed to UK deal.
17. Lacey Lane - Signed to NXT, former basketball player.
18. Karen Q - Indies, RoH.

19. Toni Storm - Signed to UK deal (from Australia)
20. Meiko Satomura - Sendai Girls

There's actually a 21st name, but that was a qualifying match at an NXT taping. I don't think it's aired yet (or know if it's going to), so I've not listed it.

Madison Rayne is interesting because she was JUST on Impact, although she's out of contract now and was supposed to be on All In.
