Heart says Devils in 6 but head says Canes in 6, they're our core's boogeyman just like how the Rangers are the Canes boogeyman and the Devils somehow do well v NYR in this weird metro triangle of teams.

Goaltending will be the big equalizer, the Devils didn't have it in 2023 v Carolina at all. If Markstrom can outplay the Carolina starter in this series then it'll be massive because skaters wise, this is a massive mismatch

Got the team back into the playoffs. Been a much more defensively responsible team then previous years.

He's been ok, in game has been a bit weird this year and sometimes he's broken up lines that work up randomly to provide a spark and the complete opposite has happened. I'd give him a B overall, hopefully the roster can improve as well next year

Yeah that sounds about right. You have the D mobility to play his game so hopefully it works out better for you than it did for us. Really interested to see if he tries to Jeckyll and Hyde you into a bad impression of Carlyle v1’s dump and chase Ducks all of a sudden in the playoffs or if that was a push from management and not him. From what I remember he was usually happy to let Carolina push their possession shot spam game for 2 periods and try to capitalize once they were tired late.

Its pretty much has to be the strategy. Rely on goaltending, try to keep all the chances to the outside, and be opportunistic when we can, especially on special teams where we have excelled all year.

The lack of forward depth scoring, especially with no Jack is the biggest issue. Its entirely possible we keep scores within reach defensively but are unable to score enough to win.

Better chance than Gritsyuk coming over, it's better for the Devils for 25-26 anyway.

I'm sure the Canes are foaming at the mouth to add Nish since their PP1 has been ass water this year and he's been a god at it in the KHL

Kochetkov has been in a rut for the last month and change (.881/2.79 since March 1). Conversely, Andersen has been thriving (.925/1.87).

Freddie arguably is one of the least durable players in league history. Whether he makes it to the end of the season healthy is an X factor in the series.
