I like Anderson and Xhekaj, but if you are consistently matching them up against Wilson's line, this will be a very short series.
Anderson is fine against any line. He won't produce but won't be a liability.

Agreed on Xhekaj, though. 3d pairing only.

If the Caps play anything like they did tonight they're gonna get smoked by a young hungry Habs team.

Six out of the last ten Caps games have been losses by three or more goals. I'm bewildered that Caps in 5 is winning the poll.
Caps have had nothing to play for outside of Ovi's record for a while now, plus Thompson and Protas have been out. If those guys are back for game 1 they will be a much more dangerous team.

The trade off is decent though. Obviously good goaltending is a great asset, but the 2010 team had to solely rely on halak to keep them in games. Montembault is going to hopefully get better goal support
Philosophically in a roster building sense yes. In terms of winning a single series I would trade their entire top line for a 2010 Halak vs Washington performance. I still don't think people understand what an all-time playoff performance that was -- to the point that I don't think comparisons to 2010 are useful.

Even though they struggled to clinch, Habs only had one regulation loss in their final 10 games. Will be interesting, on one hand making the playoffs could be the Habs Cup or the OV goal record could be the Caps Cup.
