I keep reading that the Caps are “flawed”.

Can anyone fill me in in these obvious “flaws”?

They’re too 10 in every conceivable stat. Sure they’ve had a skid recently but they’d hardly be the first team to rest starters, look like shit, and be fine in the playoffs.
This. If the Caps are "flawed" what does that make Montreal?

Caps win, number of games it takes depends on the status of Pro and LT.

Habs take 2 steps back next season.
I would say chances are extremely low. Habs are 2nd youngest team in NHL. Exchange underperforming Savard with young Reinbacher, plus Armia, Dvorak, Pezzetta will be replaced as well pretty easily. Pure organic growth would make them way better.

Let's see what this Washington team can do in the playoffs. Nobody has seen this roster yet in playoff style hockey.

They could go all the way to the cup final or they could get swept by Montreal in the first round.

Montreal loses 5 in a row then win 6 in a row. Team is jekyll and hyde. Been doing that all season long. So obviously montreal will sweep as that would make it 5 in a row after losing 3 in a row.

Hmm, yes, the gargantuan caps at 6'2 203lbs will surely crush the miniscule Habs at 6'1 200lbs. Those are definitely some long odds for any team to overcome.
I guess the averages work out, but look at the top six forwards and top four D. Even without Protas the Caps seem to have a major size advantage among guys who play the most minutes. Size isn't the determining factor, this is all sorta silly, but it does add up over the course of a series if skill/speed/goalies cancel each other out.

From the games against the Caps this season, the Habs carried the play and it was Thompson who won the game for the Caps (if my memory still served me well).

For me, the Habs playoffs are just gravy and key to the development of the young guns. I have no illusions that the Habs will be competitive. Just looking forward to seeing playoff hockey again.

Caps in 5.

With the Habs extreme Hot & Cold streaks this year I'm expecting they are swept in 4 or sweep the Caps in 4

I don't think there's an in between but having said that went with the Canadiens in 5

In theory. Washington should mop the Habs….
But man the Caps haven’t been playing good since Ovechkin got the record, and the Habs (not they have been great either) have been playing playoff hockey for a month.
This will be closer than it should be.
