That was 2010 Caps no 1 overall with 121 pts, Habs were something like 19th OA with 88 points (but good enough for 8th in east). I forget, I think Caps were predicted to win that one in 3. Caps are the favorite but don't sleep on habs

To be fair, the Caps did dominate that series too, it’s part of why the “Halak’ing” was so infuriating, it defied all conventional thought and stats.

That series is just a good example of how a hot G can steal games.

I have similar feeling, hopefuly they do not injure him in game 1 and hopefuly MSL realizes Habs need Xhekaj in the lineup. Savard is too slow for regular season, not even playoffs.

If Hutson went down, that would be the end for the Habs. They made the playoff on the strong plays from Hutson and Suzuki.

I actually think it's not super far fetched for the Habs to win 2 games but beyond that I think Washington would need to regress really quickly for them to actually win the series. Granted, given the questionable sustainability of Washington's underlying stats all year in goals above expected, goals saved above expected, and point of dominance, I do think it is unlikely that they haven't played their best hockey yet. I'm not saying they're a paper tiger by any stretch, but when you consider the likelihood that all of these unproven guys like Strome, Protas, Sandin, Chychrun, Thompson all continue to play the best hockey of their careers simultaneously in the big moments, I don't think they have an easy road ahead.
