I think this was to be expected while one fan base pretended that he’s the second coming. The guy has major flaws, and they’re showing. Hopefully he can show up in anyway in game 3, was hard to spot him in game 1 and 2.

Nah you’re right, he’s actually pretty contact adverse, I more so meant that all the guys we take from there are giants and take forever to develop, Alexeyev is another example.

I’m expecting the Caps to play their best game in game 3 and show why they are one of the top teams in the league. Will be even more convincing if big Pro is back.

He is a top 10 5v5 player in the league. Perhaps even higher in playoff game style but we will see.

Analysis after game 2:
- Laine improved his GASHB+/- per 60 but mainly due to having same GASHB+/- (+2) in game 2 as in game 1 but with less ice time,
- Ovi fell closer to Laine due to having a pretty average game 2 with only shots and hits as his highlights.

I think it's more likely that he just recognized the game was probably lost, and that Laine is way too valuable to waste his minutes in a situation like that. Better to get him some extra rest before game 3.

There’s not a single person that couldn’t have predicted that, Caps are cup contenders, the Habs are just here. Caps are a much tougher team then people give them credit for because only Ovechkin is a real big household name, they have a shit ton of depth, tough team. If their goalie stays hot, they have a good a shot as anyone to win a cup.

...while his knee injury and injury history are a reason he's slowed significantly, he's also one of the laziest, most unengaged players I've ever seen in almost 50 years of watching hockey...now relies almost soley on his natural shooting talent...he's pretty much at Late Stage Dany Heatley territory...
