That 6 foot 6 monster is about to return to the Caps lineup.
Doesn't really change anything related to the ref issue. As the studios guys said, its just one of those things that happen in hockey. If Caps lost the game, it would have been "the" reffing subject, right or wrong (or intentionally as you state)Yeah on a legal play... shot/attempted shot follow throughs aren't penalties.
Crosschecking players in the mouth intentionally is a suspendable offense.

Suzuki line was -2 last nightHabs dominated most of the time the Habs 1st line was on. The rest of the time they were mediocre to being dominated.
He is no longer capable of even playing on the powerplay unfortunatelyIt truly is amazing to me how a player as bad as Laine (who’s been a bad hockey player since 2020 at the latest) can have such a fanbase on here. He’s a poor player effort wise, defensively, and just overall. Yes, he has a wicked world class shot. But outside of that? He brings you nothing.
I get he was a super prospect and his first few years were electric. But the guy has nothing but baggage with him. He’s not a great locker room guy either.
Once this contract ends for him, he’ll probably still stick in the NHL Just based off his shot and size (which he doesn’t use) but probably just short term deals. Hes an absolute line dragging player.
If I was Montreal I’d only play him on the powerplay and as little minutes 5on5 as possible. And if he’s pissed about it, then he can be healthy scratched.
Meh. He scored plenty of PPG this year. Maybe he’s currently hurt. But he looks atrocious. He is no longer capable of even playing on the powerplay unfortunately

The point being this is hockey. It sounds weird to be handwaving that a guy was bleeding in an nhl playoff game.
He definitely looks the worst he's ever looked all year and probably all career right nowMeh. He scored plenty of PPG this year. Maybe he’s currently hurt. But he looks atrocious.
so was phil kessel and he won the cup 3 times. with the right roster, it could workOnce this contract ends for him, he’ll probably still stick in the NHL Just based off his shot and size (which he doesn’t use) but probably just short term deals. Hes an absolute line dragging player.
Okay I'll make thus obvious. Is it okay to cross check players in the face with enough force to draw blood?
My guy I’ve already said I’m sympathetic with Habs fans for one or two of those cross checks. It’s just weird how much yall are clinging to them. There was 60 minutes of actual hockey last night too.
And handwaving about “blood being drawn” just gives off overzealous youth hockey parent energy. It’s the playoffs man. There will be blows both directions as there already has been. There will be blood.
Can you link me up with where the league said this is fine?Let's change it to blood drawn to requiring dental corrections? Gallagher is getting his face fixed from an illegal play the league has just said that fine to.
God. Reading this thread is enough to give anyone gas.
Yes, the refs have been bad. But the refs have been bad BOTH ways. There are tons of penalties that weren't called on the Habs either.
And guess what? That happens EVERY year in EVERY playoffs. You either suck it the F up, or you go the F home. That's it. That's all there is to it.
Some Columbus fans might argue with you on that pointHe definitely looks the worst he's ever looked all year and probably all career right now

No penalty being awarded is a long way from the league saying they are OK with it. You are just being hyperbolic. No penalty was awarded and no fine handed out. The league saying nothing is them being fine with it
