Pretty sound logic by you. Watertight analysis and reasoning. If penalties are quite even, then they have gone pretty correctly. Although each PP for Habs is worth like 1.5 - 2 PP due to Laine's shot. So Habs are definitely getting their fair share of PPs.
I honestly can't believe how much you fanboy and praise such a below average player.

Hard shot, slow release, bad aim, no IQ.

Impressive

Laine worst player in the NHL

A few things:

There have been a number of Montreal blatant penalties not called.

Montembeault has kept the games close to the third period. If not for him it would be over going into the third.

Montreal fans are watching the last 5-10 minutes of the games and forgetting the prior part of the game. The Habs are getting dominated and are full on pressing at the end of the game. The Capitals went down and immediately scored after. Holding a lead and carrying the play is more challenging then when you are down and pressing for the equalizer.

Bruh I've seen Habs players get crosscehcked in the mouth that's dangerous. I don't care about the interference or the trips. I want dangerous things called.

It's hard to let your top goal scorer bleeding from his face go.

Caufield was bleeding after that, I would say that's significant

Meanwhile in the Caps locker room lol.

“Yeah, [I lost] three on top and three on the bottom got chipped a little bit,” Alexeyev said. “I have them at home.”

Later, he joked, “They’re under my pillow.”

In Montreal during the playoffs they get 2-3 power plays in the 3rd period, especially if the game is close. Typical Montreal.
Typical garbage. Can't remember a game where habs benefitted from game management. last night would be one IF they hadn't ignored multiple crosschecks to the face in the first 2 periods.

Habs dominated most of the time the Habs 1st line was on. The rest of the time they were mediocre to being dominated.

Yeah on a legal play... shot/attempted shot follow throughs aren't penalties.

Crosschecking players in the mouth intentionally is a suspendable offense.

I wonder if you've noticed any crosschecking this series

Utilized optimally = 4 minutes per game, all on PP
I would actually like to see this happening. He could practice solely for the PP. Save his energy only for the PP. He could train fighting as well, so that he becomes a double threat:
1. If you take a penalty, Laine will make you pay by scoring,
2. If you tackle and/or manhandle a star player, Laine will make you eat a knuckle sandwich.

Everything in the sport is dangerous.

I get the immediate reaction. That's what being a fan is. We complain about what happens to our team, defend them from things that shouldn't be defended, etc. Perfectly reasonable for a Habs fan to hate Dowd after that one, in fact it's perfectly fine to have a hatred of any player team for any reason!

I just despise the pearl clutching and constant focus on refereeing and calls and bias well after the fact (this is absolutely not a MTL specific or this series specific thing). Refs make mistakes all the time. That's just the nature of all sports. The constant conversation and re-litigation and grand statements are so draining

The games are over, the Caps deserved to win them. The league should fine players cross checking people in the face. I understand they won't suspended them because it's the playoffs just acknowledge it's not allowed and tell the refs to watch for it.

I don't care about the trips or interferences I was a Habs fan in 2021 when we clutched and grabbed our way to the finals. Cross checks to the head are usually supendable actions for a reason where as interference is a 2 minute penalty
