...we killed this in the GDT...let's move on...
Why? This will be a big thing moving forward in this series. You can bet some of the Habs will bring it up.

Let's not act like that's not the referees turning a blind eye to one of the most dangerous plays in the sport.

I didn't complain after it happened the first time and moved on, but three times in two games is egregious.

The issue is that the Habs have objectively not played well for the first 2 periods of each game so far, and Washington has completely outclassed them.

The only reason these games weren't like 5-1 going into the third both games is because of solid goaltending from both sides.

Instead - 90% of the diehard Habs fans are just in here bitching ONLY about the refs and not about their own guys not being good enough.
Objectively, Montreal could've easily won either game. Both were very, very close. Tonight, the outcome was mostly because of Thompson, who made at least two spectacular saves. We've seen huge momentum swings from period to period, but overall there's nothing unbalanced about this series.

The reason people are complaining is not because of the outcome, but specifically because blatant cross-checks to the face have been ignored. We all know there's a higher threshold for shoving and interference in the playoffs, but multiple sticks to the face is another level of negligence.

...I agree...and Uncle Fester won't do anything about it, no refs get called to the office or whatever...so we might as well just dish it back out...remember when Montreal played Philly in the Playoffs a few years ago and Konecny broke Gallagher's jaw with a crosscheck...and nothing happened...just expect it and dish it back is all we can do...which is why Xhekaj needs to play...

Anyone got clips of Hutson and someone else shying away from contact going back for the puck, leading to extended offensive zone time for the Caps?

I kindaaaa get it for Hutson but then put him out in situations when that’s not gonna happen so much.

Caps clearly dominated 75% of the play through 2. Happy so far.

...MSL doesn't protect his kids, just the old broken down vets...

I've been a big fan of Laine since day #1, even through his struggles in Columbus and Montreal - but the difference between Montreal's play before and after he was benched tells me that he's just a liability now. The Bell Centre is going to have to tilt the ice, because Washington is looking like they're good enough to sweep this.
Played 10 minutes.. 3 of which were useless ones on the PP. Two terrible shots and lost a puck battle that led to a 2 on 1.

I think the only thing that keeps him putting the jersey on is the lack of another option.

Pezzetta? No.

there's nothing to be accomplished from complaining about officiating in these threads, just endless bickering and derails

should be a separate thread for people who would rather talk about the refs than the players on the ice

Hoping Montreal can win won at home at least and get a taste of a playoff victory to build on for the years to come.

Good effort by the Habs in both games.

Really impressed how they bounced back in the third after that awful second!!

Objectively Montreal should be getting blown out. The Caps are crushing them in high danger chances.
