https://prospectshockey.wordpress.com scouting report.

Emil Oksanen is an offensive minded winger with good size and strong skating attributes.
A player who is fairly one dimensional at this stage, Oksanen makes up for a lack of a defensive ability with a high end offensive skill set.

A skilled winger with excellent puck skills and strong control, Oksanen can be fairly shifty and elusive in possession.
As he generates good speed and the ability to effectively change pace and direction.

Possessing a lethal shot that comes off a quick release and displays near pin point accuracy.
Oksanen thrives on the power play were he consistently drives off the half boards and lets fly with a quick and accurate shot.

A player who competes hard on the offensive side of the puck and shows strong positional awareness.
Oksanen protects the puck well and shows strong decision making abilities.

A player who shows creativity, Oksanen fairly forces plays and has the ability to create offense out of nothing.
Oksanen is still fairly raw as a complete package as he struggles on the defensive side of the puck.
Can lose his check in transition and lacks a physical element to his game.

He will be old for next years draft but I missed him because he is 2017 eligible, good stats. Any relation to for BU player Ahti? They are from the same city and Blues organization I noticed.

I'm not sure does Emil Oksanen has any relation to Ahti Oksanen probably not but that's my prediction.
Emil Oksanen would have been draft eligible this weekend but he's late birthday so that's why he's available next June.

Very impressive season at u-20s. Massive improvement.

If his next season is good, a first round selection wouldn't be surprising. And he's not even in the top tier for Finnish prospects.

Not sure if staying in Mestis is the best move for him. USHL might've been a better option.

Here it is. Old article jatkoaika.com which has updated 22nd May
That's weird eliteprospect.com not mention that Oksanen plays in USHL next season and Jatkoaika.com has announced Oksanen is going to USHL.
Also Sioux Falls Stampede hasn't published that they are signed Emil Oksanen. So what's the official truth

What comes Emil Oksanen's draft position a lot depends that where he'll play next season and does he make Finland's roster in world juniors.

Next years draft might be another great draft for Finland.
Tolvanen,Vesalainen,Oksanen,Välimäki and Vaakanainen are possibly 1st rounders.

Then there's Joni Ikonen,Kasper Kotkansalo,Miro Heiskanen,Robin Salo, Linus Nyman,Sami Moilanen, Santeri Virtanen and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen.
Of course it's too early predict next years draft but right now looks pretty damn good.

Watched him a little bit in the U20 tournament. Looks like a guy worthy of a selection in the first three rounds.

Wonder if he comes over with Regina Pats hosting Memorial Cup? Would it be better for his development? Would definately be seen more by NHL scouts as the Pats look to have a stacked team again this year.

Espoo United mestis team where Emil Oksanen played this past season ( 2016-2017) is very serious economic problems.

Espoo United's future as a mestis hockey team is more than questionable.
Based on the information by Finnish media at least 7 Espoo united players has been asked to other mestis teams. But no official player transfers have been made yet.

If some FEL, Mestis or SHL team won't sign Oksanen if Espoo United falls into bankruptcy it's possible Oksanen might become to Regina Pats but it's not sure at all.
Pre-season in Finland starts late July / early August so Oksanen's next season team will be clear in the coming weeks.

Looking more like "when". Electricity and lights are out, owner says he's not putting any more money into it, etc.

Really, this is something we even saw coming when Espoo United was announced. If Blues couldn't manage, how could Espoo United? It was doomed to failure from the get go. A shame that players like Oksanen miss out on their salaries. Mestis players aren't mega rich people who can live 10 years without salary if need be, they actually only make an average income that they need to get by. Very irresponsible.

It would be interesting seeing Oksanen in CHL. If he has a good season, he could even get himself drafted.

Regina Pats plays in WHL not OHL.
If / when Espoo United really falls to bankruptcy i think Oksanen will check first liiga options.
If he doesn't found good liiga team and Mestis isn't option then it's possible Oksanen really goes to Regina but let's see that Espoo United case first.

Yeah, I meant to type CHL. And yes, hopefully it will all work out for him in the end.

Yeah that's true.
It's not only Emil Oksanen who's next season is open.

Jesse Ylönen is another player who has signed with Espoo United.
If Espoo United's bankruptcy really happen then there's two ( Oksanen and Ylönen) young Finnish forwards available.

By the way does Jukurit has any need to sign more forwards?.
Just thinking if Oksanen and Ylönen are without team when pre season starts.
So could Jukurit be one of those teams who might sign at least one of those young wingers if Oksanen won't go to WHL.
